Dobson Ranch Retirees’ Club members have been busy over the first months of 2023 with our regular hikes, walks, bike rides, picnics, and social events.

At our February general meeting, Retirees‘ celebrated an early Valentines Day. Our speaker, Donna Bates from the Tempe Family YMCA, shared information about the YMCA services for active adults plus exciting opportunities for trips to Italy and Iceland offered through the YMCA. Skye Riss, Dobson Ranch's Communications Manager, shared updates on Dobson Ranch’s year-long 50th Anniversary events and volunteer opportunities for our members.

At our March meeting, we look forward to hearing from Heather Patterson, Program Coordinator from the Mesa Fire Department, who will offer a presentation on Safety and Life for Seniors, including common accidents and incidents, prevention, and available services. She will be available for questions, discussions, and concerns related to the services provided by the Mesa Fire Department.

Recently, DRR members toured the facilities of Cristo de Paz, a local non-profit that serves people who struggle with hunger, poverty and homelessness in the East Valley. Plans are in the works for a group of us to serve meals there in the near future. Along with our usual calendar of events, Betsy Hertzler is organizing a tour of an art museum in Chandler in March. Bill Tekien is planning a baseball outing at Chase Field in April for the Milwaukee Brewers vs the AZ Diamondbacks.

Dobson Ranch Retirees’ membership is open to any Ranch resident over the age of 55 for $20 per year. To take a peek at the monthly calendar of events enjoyed by DRR Members, visit www.dobsonranchretirees.org.

DRRC events and activities are open only to DRRC members, but non-members are welcome to attend up to three times prior to joining. We meet every first Monday of each month at La Casita at 9:00 am, so please join us!
