NATURAL TOOTHPASTE SHORTLISTED FOR NATIONAL AWARD

An innovative natural toothpaste, developed by pioneering sisters Eve and Suzanne Carnall of The Green Woman, has been shortlisted for a national award. The Shropshire based company has developed the premium White & Green mineral toothpaste as part of its range of 100% natural, certified organic health and beauty products. The toothpaste contains high quality organic ingredients and artificial flavourings have been replaced with natural plant extracts such as peppermint essential oil. It contains no fluoride or Triclosan.

Now the new product, which was launched earlier this year and is produced at the company’s Ludlow Makery, has been shortlisted in the Health & Wellbeing Awards 2022 run by the national magazine. Suzanne Carnall of The Green Woman said that the company was delighted that its White & Green toothpaste had been recognised. “We worked very hard to find only the best, most effective natural ingredients to go into our new toothpaste. It’s quite an honour to have that work recognised by the Health & Wellbeing team by shortlisting us for the oral care award,” she said.

Shortlisted products will now be judged by a panel of expert judges. White & Green Mineral Toothpaste is available to buy from www.thegreenwoman.co.uk or from stockists which can be found on the website.

AWARDS FOR UMAMI CHEF AT FARM SHOP AND DELI SHOW

Umami Chef has been awarded three Farm Shop & Deli 2022 awards - with every single product they entered being given an accolade. This was an especially good achievement as it was the first awards they’d ever entered. Umami Chef was founded in 2019 by Jackie Bailey. It was the first company in the UK approved to grow koji – a naturally occurring fungus, which has been used for centuries to make Japanese fermented foods like miso, soy sauce and sake. The business, based in Worcester, is growing rapidly thanks to the current interest in naturally fermented foods. The company won silver awards for their Sweet White Fava Miso Paste and Filtered Shio Koji and a Bronze for Fresh Shio Koji. They hope to spread the word about Japanese fermented foods and encourage people to eat miso made with beans grown in the UK.
