OPENING A DISPUTE WITH THE RTB
Tenants and Landlords
Advertisement
If an issue arises during a tenancy between landlords and tenants, it is important to try and resolve this through open and honest communication. The RTB can facilitate mediation between the landlord and the tenant or appoint an adjudicator if they are not able to resolve this themselves.
Neighbours and Third Parties
• If you are having issues with a neighbour who is a tenant, you can apply for dispute resolution as a third party. All parties involved should initially try to resolve the matter directly themselves. In cases where a landlord fails to enforce a tenant’s responsibilities, a person directly and adversely affected may take a case against the landlord through the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB). • For further information please check out
