Proactive Diplomacy

UNDERSTANDING MOROCCO’S FUTURE

Since it was created, the Diplomatic Foundation has been offering Ambassadors accredited in Morocco “Diplomatic Carrefour” meetings for the exchange of ideas with a high-ranking State official or other dignitary, either from the public or private sector or from Civil Society.

In 2022, the “Diplomatic Carrefour” resumed at a sustained pace, offering the Ambassadors a dynamic platform that is in step with current affairs.

In fact, “diplomacy is no longer the instrument of foreign policy alone, but it is also one of the means of achieving the general policy objectives of the State” (excerpt from the speech of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI on 26/03/2013).

In order to arrive at a better understanding of present-day Morocco and the Morocco of the future, and in order to provide unfiltered answers to the questions of the present time, fourteen meetings were offered to the Ambassadors in 2022, which made it possible to cross the symbolic milestone of 120 “carrefours” since it was created 12 years ago.

For 2023, the Diplomatic Foundation offers the Ambassadors a programme of very great meetings, for better understanding and anticipation of the big changes in Morocco, in its various aspects and in all its complexity. All topics will be discussed at these meetings, without taboo topics or vague language, drawing inspiration from the diplomatic style of Chatham House.
