Tin Star had humble beginnings. Starting with an educational toy and a dream, Shelley Holub opened her doors six years ago in downtown Weimar and never looked back. “Originally I was teaching and looking for an avenue to allow me more flexibility to be able to take care of my kids, but then I became passionate about serving customers” said Shelley. “Today, Tin Star is continuously growing.”

Within Tin Star, shoppers will discover unique toys, educational items, children’s clothing, purses and handbags, soaps, candles, a variety of gift items, home décor, and so much more.

“I strive to be different and that is expressed through the items I carry,” shared Shelley. “I want to make sure the items we carry at Tin Star are good, quality products.” Recognizing that Tin Star couldn’t exist without help from her family, Shelley is quick to express her gratitude to not only them, but her loyal customers, as well. “My middle son grew up here in Tin Star,” laughed Shelley. “Now he goes to school and has all the kids excited about new products we have. My entire family, including my parents and my husband, have been so vital to the success of Tin Star. This business is the true definition of a family business. My mom works the store with me on her days off and also on her lunch break. My dad and husband make cabinets and do all our maintenance. Our kids label products and help pick out the toys that we carry - they all pitch in. I cannot thank each of them enough for helping with this dream. Being in business for six years is a huge milestone and I am grateful for the support of my family and customers over the years.”
