Brains Academic Highlights

National Merit Recognizes 13 in the Class of 2014 Bishop Kelley is proud to announce that 13 students in the Class of 2014 have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Finalists are Mariah Rubino, Peter Simmons, Alex Moore, and Joseph Teter (pictured in front row). Commended students include Josiah Siddiki, Caitlin Stillson, Shane Muselman, Katie Roberts, David Potts, Meredith Crouch, Lennon Luckadoo, Kate McAndrews, and Ben Brown. Congratulations to these outstanding students, their families, and their teachers. Bishop Kelley has had 34 Semi-Finalists in the past four years.

New Classes Come To Kelley Digital Media Teaches New Aspects of Journalism What started with sports webcasts two years ago developed into a popular elective. Students gain professional skills, including the ability to shoot, edit, and produce digital video.

String Theory Bishop Kelley’s String Ensemble is new to the curriculum for 2013-14. Their music is a welcome addition to all-school Masses, the Christmas Concert, Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and other events.

Br. Bernardine Program, A Decade of Success The Brother Bernardine Scholars program was designed by Judith McMasters and implemented in 2003. It is a rigorous academic enrichment program named to represent the high standards set by Bishop Kelley. In ten years, 125 students have graduated as Brother Bernardine Scholars. In May of 2013, Judith McMasters was named the first honorary Brother Bernardine Scholar. Class of ‘17 Br. Bernardine Scholars toured Philbrook for a traveling summer Oklahoma History class. bishopkelley.org
