Butcher & Rose in Columbus, Ohio transformed the typically dark, male-oriented steakhouse interior into a space that is dramatic and visually distinctive. Lighting plays a central role in enhancing the owner’s vision of welcoming a broad spectrum of visitors to experience a unique dining experience in an elegant modern setting. The restaurant opened in the summer of 2024 on the ground floor of the renovated Preston Centre on Broad Street in the city’s downtown section. The former bank building was converted to apartments, while the street-level entrance was renovated as a sunken plaza with ponds, greenery, and waterfalls. Columbus is the biggest city in Ohio and the state’s capital, with a metro population exceeding two million people, making it a significant urban center in the Midwest, known for education, government, and diverse industries like tech and fashion. It is the home to Ohio State University’s undergraduate and graduate student population of over 65,000.
