Welcome to the 2025 LightFair issue of designing lighting (dl). On the cover is the Palace Theater, which recently underwent a Tesla Award-winning lighting redesign alongside a building-wide transformation. Fisher Marantz Stone studied archival photos of the 109-year-old venue to create a fresh lighting design that blended modern technology with the theater's rich history. Also in this issue, Jim Benya discusses the history of LightFair and why it is still as relevant today as it ever was. Tillotson Design Associates executes a stunning transformation of the Longwood Gardens. And we reveal the winners of the 1st Annual Light Justice NOW Awards.
