A unique and exclusive 19.5 square foot house situated in Sunningdale, Ascot, set over three floors in 1.75 acres of secluded landscaped gardens, overlooking the Sunningdale golf course. Consero London were provided with a brief which required them to take the classical stone and brick exterior, and express the same timeless principles throughout the property’s interior. The client requested soft tones and elegant features which would appeal to both the local and international market.
Consero London transformed the property into an elegant home with six suite bedrooms and en-suites, a swimming pool and spa wing, cinema, grand kitchen, including a utility, boot room and catering kitchen, a dining room, drawing room, family room orangery, library, study and lift. The floor plans, doors, bathrooms, joinery, lighting, full turnkey FF&E, accessories and finishes were designed and co-ordinated by the in-house interiors team to the client’s budget. In addition, the artwork used throughout the property was curated and developed specifically for this project by the designers alongside the artist.
The circular first floor landing, with feature panel mouldings, leads to five bedroom suites. The master ensuites include book matched marble and Murano glass sanitary-ware. The second floor has guest accommodation, a cinema and guest W.C, as well as an entertainment space with large folding doors onto a rooftop terrace with stunning views.
The tall ceilings and large picture windows throughout the property were inspirational when designing the interior architecture. Coffered ceilings in the drawing room and study were key highlights of two grand and elegant rooms. The secret door connecting the library and study is an exciting surprise to visitors of the house and the dramatic silk wallpaper in the dining room lends itself to hosting lavish dinner parties. The subtle incorporation of modern AV and technology was also key. High-end appliances, luxury marbles, sanitary ware and ironmongery have all been specified throughout the project.
The kitchen is at the heart of the property. Consero London created a classical country kitchen with a modern and luxurious touch. The kitchen features a large Lacanche range cooker, Sub-zero wine fridges, a hidden pantry cupboard and feature calacatta marble top. Langstaff-Ellis combined traditional style with Rock Maple raised and fielded doors throughout the kitchen’s cabinetry, flanked by feature antique mirrored doors with fretwork overlay detailing. Black American walnut veneer was added to all internal cabinetry, complemented with Solid Black American Walnut dovetailed drawer boxes throughout. The kitchen’s design echoes that of the rest of the property, timeless luxury blended with modernity, a home that a family could truly enjoy. Speaking about the property’s design, Nicola Sampson, Head of Interiors at Consero London, said “The designs are grand, yet the house is very welcoming and was designed with family life in mind.”
