Forth Valley Hospital Forth Valley Hospital and grounds were developed on the historic landscape of Larbert House, which had fallen into neglect due to lack of maintenance and vandalism. The landscape around it was also seen as an inaccessible liability, that had no value for the local community. During the renovation, landscape architects Raeburn Farquhar Bowen reframed the green landscape as an asset and an integral part of the new hospital. Nature was integrated into patient rehabilitation and in return, this natural resource benefitted from development with invasive species removed, native woodlands replanted, and sustainable urban drainage and green courtyards installed.
