Denette Dunn is a sustainability expert and public speaker with a rich background in public service and the private sector. She previously served as Peoria's vice mayor and now represents the Pine District as a council member. As a council member, Denette founded the Pine Citizens Advisory Committee to address the needs of her community better. The committee, which now includes over 100 members from various sectors, reflects her dedication to creating an inclusive and engaged community. Dunn’s experience extends to the private sector, where she worked as the Municipal Services Manager for Republic Services. In this role, she managed over $85 million in municipal contracts across the southwest region. Additionally, she served as a registered lobbyist, advocating for legislation that encouraged strong, sustainable partnerships between municipalities and private enterprises. Her leadership has been further demonstrated through her involvement with various boards and commissions, including the WESTMARC Board and the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission. Denette also served as president and legislative liaison for the Arizona Recycling Coalition, where she worked to advance sustainability initiatives throughout the state. Before entering public service, Denette Dunn gained experience in marketing, sales, and management. From 2007 to 2011, she was the Director of Marketing and Community Relations at Hudson Baylor Corporation. In this role, she managed material recovery operations, developed public relations strategies, and built relationships with municipal and state officials. She also played an instrumental role in securing grants and sponsorships for company projects.
