2023 WEEKEND PERMANENT TEE TIME LOTTERY

During the regular golf season, there are times available each Saturday and Sunday for permanent tee time groups starting at 5:50 am until 8:50 am. Regularly scheduled Permanent Starting Times begin April 8 and 9 and end October 7 and 8. Permanent tee time applications for the 2023 season and a $75/85 R/NR per person starting time application fee must be submitted to the golf course PRIOR to December 4, 2022 for the 2023 season. Applications are being accepted during regular business hours at the golf course, or application can be sent via email to jason@dfpd.org with payment being made online at deerfieldgolf.org. There will be a virtual Saturday lottery draw for all existing 2022 permanent tee-time groups at approximately 7:10 pm on December 7 followed by a second draw at 7:40 pm for Sunday groups. This night’s virtual lottery draw is only for existing 2022 tee-time groups, any new groups wishing to procure a permanent tee-time spot on either Saturday or Sunday will be contacted for a 2nd virtual draw on a TBD date in December. Following the first lotteries all available tee times are posted on the Deerfield Golf Club website.

New Golf Passes and pre-paid tickets for the 2023 season can be purchased at both the golf course and on-line beginning December 1, 2023.

Jason Mannina

Jason has worked for the Deerfield Park District at the Deerfield Golf Club for 8 golf seasons. As the Director of Golf Operations, he oversees all guest experiences on property, from playing the course, to dining in the restaurant, to hitting golf balls at the range, lessons and programming. As a member of The PGA of America he enjoys mentoring up-and-coming PGA apprentices through employment and networking. In the off-season, Jason enjoys playing golf, traveling, following all sports, seeing live music and cooking. Jason is a Palatine native and grew up playing at the Palatine Park District’s Palatine Hills Golf Course. He is an uncle to two awesome nieces and one of 3 adult children helping out with aging parents. He enjoys coming to work every day because he can offer a fun recreational escape for all guests. He feels that everyone should “Be Proud of Yourself for How Hard You Work!”

Introduction to Jr. Golf, Motor Skills, & Fitness

Golf, Motor Skills, & Fitness is a golf-specific sports program that incorporates athletic movements with golf fundamentals. The program teaches kids the fundamentals of golf through a series of athletic drills, games, and activities. Our team of US Kids Certified Golf Instructors will use SNAG Golf equipment to keep the kids engaged and on task. In addition to athletic movements, students will be introduced to the basics of putting, chipping, and full swing. This class is designed for an adult to accompany the child for each session. Junior Masters

Our Junior Masters Golf program focuses on teaching our young golfers the fundamentals of the game of golf. Our goal is to provide the foundation for a lifetime of golf. In this class golfers will now use real golf equipment as we introduce full swing mechanics including grip, stance and posture. The class will also spend time on chipping, pitching and putting. This class has been designed for parent participation. Our instructors will help parents interact with their child as it relates to golf and help them provide proper feedback. advanced Masters

In our Advanced Masters class, students transition from a parent/ child focus to player independent learning (No Parents). This class provides the opportunity to reinforce and build on the skills acquired in our Junior Masters golf class. In addition to continuing to focus on strong fundamental development, students will be introduced to golf course management, rules, and golf etiquette in a positive learning environment. This class is designed to prepare our golfers to play on the golf course and join our Junior Tee Level Class, and our Small Group Summer Golf Camps. Junior Tee level

Our Junior Tee Level class is designed for junior golfers that want to continue to develop the skills that they have learned in our Advanced Masters classes. This class will be taught by our team of PGA/LPGA Professionals and focus on drills and activities that strengthen the skill set of the golfer. Golfers are now strongly encouraged to play and practice on their own in addition to their scheduled class time. Our Junior Tee Class prepares our golfers to participate on the Deerfield Junior Golf Travel Team. Junior tee participants are also appropriate for our Junior Golf Camps. Golfers who join the Junior Tee Level class should not be absolute beginners and should have some golf experience. Location: Deerfield Golf Club Age: 8-13 Instructor: DGC STAFF Min/Max: 6/16

Deerfield Junior Golf academy Travel Team

The goal of this program is to prepare team members for competitive situations that they will face in IJGA events, and eventually on their high school team. Our travel teams meet for practice two times per week throughout the season. Each practice will focus on skill development through a series of competitive drills and exercises led by our professional staff. Members of our travel team are encouraged to play and practice on their own in addition to scheduled practices and matches. In addition to the two weekly team practices, our players will compete in a series of nine-hole matches as part of the North Shore Junior Golf Tour. These matches will occur at Deerfield Golf Club and at other local north shore clubs. Matches will take place on Saturdays for the fall session. Team members will receive a team golf shirt or hat. Tournament round greens fees of $25 per player/per tournament not included. Location: Deerfield Golf Club Age: 11-15 Instructor: DGC STAFF Min/Max: 4/16
