City News Decatur Awards Outstanding Projects for 2017

n May 24, the Decatur Historic Preservation Commission held the 2017 Decatur Design Awards at city hall. The event recognizes outstanding projects in Decatur in the categories of historic preservation, additions, commercial construction, residential construction, sustainability and energy efficiency, landscape, and public/institutional buildings, as well as individuals or firms dedicated to furthering the city’s preservation goals. The award ceremony is held in May to honor National Preservation Month and the City of Decatur and the Decatur Historic Preservation Commission would like to express their appreciation for the quality of these projects in the city. This year’s winners included:
