Davao City Water District is among the water utilities conferred with special awards by the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) during the LWUA-Water Districts Forum and Awards 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Center on September 17, 2018. DCWD received the Big Brother Award in recognition of its technical assistance and other means of support to smaller water districts to help improve their customer service and expand their operations. The other award is in recognition of DCWD’s Department of Health (DOH) - Accredited Water Testing Laboratory. More than a symbol of compliance to DOH Administrative Order No. 2006-0024 or the Rules and Regulations Governing the Accreditation of

Laboratories for Drinking Water Analysis, the award seals DCWD’s commitment to ensure public health safety.

GM Edwin V. Regalado received the awards on behalf of the DCWD Board of Directors and management.

DCWD is FOI Champion among WDs

The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) awarded Davao City Water District as the 2018 Freedom of Information (FOI) Champion under the Local Water Districts category for its significant contributions to the FOI Program’s progress and development. The award was conferred on November 28, 2018 at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila during the 2018 FOI Awards.

It marks DCWD’s second consecutive recognition from the PCOO, the lead agency in the FOI implementation in the Executive Branch. In December 2017, DCWD was cited as the first water district to go on board the e-FOI portal.
