Casuarina Square Medical and Dental Casuarina Square Medical and Dental has been looking after the health needs of Territorians for more than 30 years. Here, we meet some of the inspiring women who make up part of this practice.

Ruth Debuque Practice Partner

Ruth began working at Casuarina Square Medical and Dental in 2001. Since assuming the role of practice manager in 2008, she hasn’t looked back, and credits supportive practice partners and staff as key to a great workplace environment. Ruth believes keeping up-to-date with dental and medical knowledge and professional development helps keep her at the top of her game. A highlight of the job is receiving feedback from both staff and patients. Outside of work, Ruth enjoys baking, music and coffee with friends.

Dr Agnes Ocampo

Practice Partner, GP Principal and GP Supervisor

Dr Ocampo was inspired to enter the medical profession by her late mother who always encouraged her to never give up on her dreams. From the age of 10, Dr Ocampo spent holidays with a relative who was a GP, spending countless hours watching him perform minor surgeries and treat a wide range of conditions and diseases. Always undertaking her job with tenacity and empathy, particular highlights include seeing her patients happy with the care they have received, and sharing her knowledge and skills with medical students. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with husband Ross and children Andrea and Royce, and relaxing with gardening and cooking.

Sandy Scholz Practice Nurse

Having graduated as a registered nurse in 1987, Sandy made the move into general practice nursing in 2010. The highlight of her job is helping people to address and overcome health problems, whether it’s a one-off wound, or ongoing management of a chronic disease. Sandy’s caring nature, combined with her common sense approach help her in achieving positive health outcomes for her patients. Outside of work, Sandy enjoys spending time with her family, bushwalking, photography and photo editing, cycling, music and cooking.

Dr Karen Marshall DENTIST

Karen is passionate about making a difference to the dental health and general wellbeing of her patients, and works hard to overcome preconceived ideas about dental treatment. Encouraging patients’ to maintain healthy habits, which in turn leads to better dental health, is a particular highlight of her job. Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her family. Having recently retired as a committee member of a football club, Karen is enjoying spending her newly found free time giving her garden a makeover.

Alison Mason Practice Nurse

Alison has worked at Casuarina Square Medical and Dental for nine months, but has spent eight years in total practicing in a GP setting. Alison thrives on the varied nature of the job, and with no two days being the same, is always prepared for anything to happen! Being able to improve a patient’s quality of life is a particular highlight of her role. Her ‘can-do’ attitude and reassuring manner ensures patients’ receive the best possible care. Outside of work, Alison enjoys spending time with her family, reading, walking, and going on driving holidays around Australia.
