That dream became reality on 8th August 1986, when Masai Mara Sopa Lodge officially opened its doors with just 36 guest rooms, welcoming visitors to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Maasai Mara. This milestone marked the beginning of a hospitality journey that would eventually grow into a distinguished collection of safari lodges across Kenya and Tanzania. Over the years, the family expanded to include Amboseli Sopa Lodge, Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort, Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, Samburu Sopa Lodge, Tarangire Sopa Lodge, Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge
and Serengeti Sopa Lodge. While Serengeti Sopa Lodge and Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge were rebranded to Explorer by Elewana Collection, they remain an important chapter in the remarkable Sopa story.
