DARLEY INTERNATIONAL SPOTLIGHT Mexico National Forestry Selects Darley In the USA, most of the federal fire and state services from the US Forest Service and BLM to CAL FIRE rely on Darley pumps for their vehicles based on their reliability. So it would stand to reason that other countries do the same when performance can’t be sacrificed. The Mexico National Forestry felt the same way. When the National Forestry of Mexico went out to bid on 22 vehicles recently, they naturally selected Quiroga with the Darley HE250 42K. Driven by a Kubota engine, these wildland vehicles deliver a pump and roll performance in a compact package that is The Mexico National Forestry loves the pump and roll performance of the ideal for firefighting in the rough Mexican terrain. Quiroga Fire Trucks of Mexico, a family business, Darley HE250 42K. has represented Darley for over 15 years and is clearly the largest fire apparatus builder in Mexico, and perhaps in all of Latin American. They build a complete line of customized vehicles for the fire apparatus and emergency markets. According to Juan Antonio Quiroga, President of Quiroga Fire Trucks, “Everything went perfect. They were very impressed with our overall quality but also the performance from the front monitors. We’re proud of our relationship with Darley over the years and appreciate all the engineering support when needed.” Check them out at www.quirogatrucks.com.

G4 - NEXT GENERATION DARLEY

Claire Long Not only was my great grandfather, William S. Darley, passionate about fire equipment, he also loved the great outdoors and wildlife. I’m sure that’s where I get my interest. This is my final year at Fenwick High School where I’ve been involved with Gymnastics, Soccer, Cheerleading, National Honor Society as well as being a Kairos leader. I did my first flip-flop at the age of 5 and worked my way up to a Level 9 by freshman year. Then came a series of injuries that kept me out of competition just when I hoped to be at my best. I reached a very difficult decision this past year to give up the sport I love, but was determined to stay active and gave diving a try. Many of the skills came naturally, but I was also starting at square one. We had a fun group of girls on our team and with the help of their encouragement I was able to qualify for the State Diving Meet. I’m ready to start college in the fall at the University of Texas with the dream of one day entering Veterinary Medicine. Claire is the youngest of three children of James and Cara Long. There are currently 32 fourth generation (G4) Darley family members who are descendants of William S. Darley.
