FROM THE DESK OF BILL DANNER

Portland, OR - 1978

“We are holding out against the monotony of mass production. We still know how to cut boots by hand and we do, we pull up the shanks by hand, and we can and do use a great many other hand operations to make you finer boots. I call these things to your attention because I want you to know that it is our intention to build the best boots. We’ll continue making fine boots until they pass a law requiring built-in obsolescence. Until then, we are going to give you boots that you can be proud to wear, boots that can claim the best quality available anywhere.”
