Tara Taylor 2023 SUPER P&E

Iam native to Galveston County, La Marque, Texas where I also get the honor to work in the community that I grew up in. I’ve been in banking for 25 years and I still learn something new at least every week.

I first started working at the Federal Reserve in Minneapolis, MN while attending school for nursing. The banking world interested me tremendously and I decided I wanted to pursue a career working in a business environment, specifically banking. After earning the privilege of working in the Federal Reserve Bank at such a young age, I focused on learning and understanding all aspects of finance and banking. Eventually I moved back home and started off in a community bank as a teller where I learned how to be the face of the bank.

After a few years of working as a teller, my positive attitude and drive helped me attain a supervisor’s role, secondly a coordinator’s role, then to being a loan officer and now where I am currently an Assistant Vice President, Banking Center Manager of Texas First Bank. I manage a couple of locations.

I am currently a Board Member of the Texas City ISD Foundation for the Future where our belief is to embrace diversity, make decisions that is best for our students and to make meaningful relationships with our community and the families. Our mission is to help prepare our students to reach their full potential and excel in their chosen paths. Together we succeed.

I am also the Treasurer for the Rotary Club of The Mainland. This is an international membership where we put service above self. We ask ourselves, “Is it the truth?” “Is it fair to all concerned?” “Will it build goodwill and better relationships?” and “Will it be beneficial to all concerned?”

Lastly, all of this was done being a single mother of five children. Four handsome prosperous sons and one beautiful goal minded daughter.
