On Monday August 15th The Hon. Leslie Williams (Minister for Early Childhood Education, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs) and Hon. Sarah Mitchell (Parliamentary Secretary for Regional and Rural Health and Western NSW, Duty Member of the Legislative Council, Acting Representative for Orange) flew in to Orange for a day of meeting with various stakeholders. Nationals Candidate for Orange, Scott Barrett met them at the Adventure Playground for morning tea with local parents and preschool representatives. This was a chance for the minister to chat with some of the local parents about issues relevant to them. As Minister for Early Childhood Education, Ms Williams told OC Life that she likes to visit various preschools and day care centres quite often. This gives her an opportunity to see what is happening in the centres, note what’s working and what isn’t and seek appropriate feedback. While in town, Ms Williams met with the Orange Land Council and the Indigenous Committee Working Party.
