The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is a modern and contemporary art museum with a collection of more than 6,000 works of 20th- and 21st-century art. Located in Tarpon Springs on the campus of St. Petersburg College, the museum is known for its award-winning architecture and Interactive Gallery. Featured mediums include sculpture, painting, mixed media, and decorative arts, anchored by works by Abraham Rattner, a noted figurative expressionist; his wife, Esther Gentle, a printmaker, sculptor, and painter; and her son, Allen Leepa, an accomplished art educator, writer, and abstract expressionist.
Other holdings within the collection include such prominent figures as Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore, and Marc Chagall, as well as contemporary Florida art, fine crafts, and works on paper. A must-see feature is a full-scale replica of Picasso’s famous 1937 painting, Guernica, with an audio and light presentation.

The MFA is known worldwide for its comprehensive collection, spanning 5,000 years of civilization in thousands of objects from antiquity to today. A city landmark, the MFA opened to the public in 1965—the first art museum in St. Petersburg located on the downtown waterfront.
Highlights include masterpieces from Vigée Lebrun, Corot, Monet, Morisot, Lafarge, Tiffany, O’Keeffe, Rauschenberg, Wiley, and others; a sculpture garden; important holdings of ancient, African, and Mesoamerican art; and one of the largest and most respected photography collections in the Southeastern United States.
The MFA presents a wide variety of art experiences across the spectrum of time and culture, from expansive blockbusters to provocative contemporary exhibitions to more focused shows illuminating the depth and beauty of the museum’s growing collection. The museum also engages its community through exciting public programs and events and serves students through youth programs and a partnership with the Pinellas County School System.
