1983 Flatlanders Dr. Chris Keim and Dr. Dan Hornickel see the light and purchased a farm just south of Whitewater. There they continue their practice of Sunshine Genetics Embryo Transfer Service. They also established the Sun-Made Brown Swiss herd.

Idyl Wild Improver Jinx sets breed high selling record at $60,000 in The 36th Springtime Show Window Sale, Elkhorn, WI. Purchased by Forest Lawn Farm, Wausau. Jinx was consigned by Bridge View Dairy, Mira Loma, CA. The contender was Tom Pearson, Pearmont Holsteins, DePere. She would later be Grand Champion World Dairy Expo and voted Cow of the ‘80’s.
November 6, 1983 V.B. Star Medallion becomes the high selling open heifer at $23,000 in the World Premier Sale going to Hilary Metcalf Brutzman, CA. The contender was David Younger, NY. Consigned by Voegeli Farms. The Swiss portion of that sale was managed by Brown Swiss Enterprises, Barb Lee, Director of Marketing.

July 12, 1985 Wisconsin Classic – 36 head average $1122. Top seller, Forest Lawn Sparks Brace, Forest Lawn to Galvin & Greg Ten Pass, Burnett. Also listed as a buyer is Willis Gunst, Hartford for Levy Anoca Princess Natika, from Paul Leverson, Oakfield.

First WI Dairyland Futurity held with WI State Show at Neilsville. The 1st winner is V B Premier Statuette Voegeli Farm. 2nd Creek Cove Beautiful Music, Creek Cove, Superior. 3rd Lone Oak Telstar Tabitha, Aarick Danielson, Waupaca. 4th Lone Oak Karlea, Thomas & Donna Ferg, Waupaca. 166 head were shown. Four cows shown that day were Nominated All American for 1985, none were Grand Champion of the State Show.
July 15, 1988 The drought year. - July 9th, Jill’s Improver Trinket, Grand Champion WI State Show, Portage. Six days later Trinket tops IL National Sale to Roundtree Farms LTD, Canada for $17,000. Shown and consigned by Jill Armbuster, Eagle. WI Brown Swiss Classic average $850 on 23 head. 8 cows, 6 bred heifers, 9 open heifers.
1990 WI Brown Swiss and WI Ayrshire Associations begin holding joint Annual State Meetings. 1991 average milk price $12.24 ($/cwt) 3.5%bf – Ave. cattle price $72.87 ($/cwt)- Ave. corn price $2.33 ($/ bushel) 1991 Wisconsin’s 75th year.
