Board of Directors Candidate DISTRICT 3 ANTRIM COUNTY Why are you seeking a board seat?
I am seeking re-election in the hopes of keeping GLE a leader in our industry. With GLE being the 3rd largest electrical utility in the state of Michigan, it is vital that we stay engaged with you, the co-op owners, to address your needs, now and into the future. As of now, we are providing the highest percent of clean energy to our member-owners, while also maintaining high reliability and affordable rates, and I plan on doing what I can to make sure this trend continues. Do you have energy industry experience, including work as a Great Lakes Energy employee, electric utility contractor, or at another energy service provider?
I have been very involved in the energy world for almost 20 years. I ran my own energy-efficiency consulting company for almost 15 years, helping homeowners and businesses use less energy while creating more comfortable spaces to live and work in. I taught Building Science to energy auditors and licensed builders to bring the industry up to speed on building energy-efficient buildings that are more affordable to operate. And for the last two years, I have been part of the clean energy team at the Groundwork Center for Resilient Communities, working with NW Michigan communities to bring more energy efficiency and clean energy options to our region.

What other qualifications or relevant information about yourself would you like to share? I have an all-electric house with solar electric panels, a battery backup system, a solar hot water system, and even an electric car. So I’m all in on electricity! I strongly believe that electricity is the best energy system out there, and we continue to make it cleaner as we move forward.
As a member and owner of an electric cooperative, you decide who will represent you on the Great Lakes Energy Cooperative Board of Directors.
