The Grand Ole Opry’s “Opry Loves The ’90s Experience” kicks off May 16 and includes an interactive tour exhibition, special in-show Opry programming, ’90s-themed Opry Plaza Party shows and surprise artists collaborations honoring one of the most celebrated decades in country music. Nashville-based Mojo Music & Media has acquired a 50% interest in the publishing catalog of songwriter Bob Morrison and the writer share, artist and record royalties of Country Music Hall of Famer Jerry Reed. The move gives Mojo full control of Reed’s legacy of works.

Marquee Broadcasting is purchasing Country WZVL/PhiloZanesville, OH from Whiz Media Group in a multi-station deal that includes both television and radio properties.

Burke Broadcasting, LLC has closed on the transfer of Classic Country WUCL/De Kalb, MS and two additional stations to Bryan Holliday’s Meridian Media Group, LLC for assumption of a $475,000 note to Robert Holliday of New South Communications.

The seventh annual Country With Heart benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will take place June 11 during CMA Music Fest at the Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theater. iHeartMedia national host Bobby Bones will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Arkansas during commencement ceremonies on May 14.
