Gallery | Small world wonders

Remarkable, colourful and confronting, the entries to Nikon’s 2022 Small World Photomicrography competition were as dazzling as ever.

Photographer Timin combined high-resolution microscopy and image-stitching to create the competition-winning image below of the 3mm-long embryonic hand of a Madagascar giant day gecko (Pheluma grandis).
