Product Comparison #11 – Automated Saws, Low End

I

t was many months ago that I decided to conduct this 12-part series of product comparisons, and now we are in the final stretch!

Sean Hubbard

Last time, we compared Automated Saws, High End. This time, we’re taking a look at the lower end of the cost spectrum. When I refer to low end saws, I do so respectfully. Typically, the saw is less expensive, with fewer features. Typically, they include features like manual loading, single cut saws, do not possess full automation, and require human interaction to process a single piece of lumber. Low end saws offer great flexibility for lower volume component manufacturers, long scarf cuts, short runs, replacement pieces, and even small pieces or wedges. These saws are used in nearly every plant in North America. As a reminder, for this project I have researched the following companies and websites: Square 1 Design & Manufacture Inc Acer Inc Alpine, An ITW Company Apex Machine Sales

Eide Integrated Systems

Fitzgerald Group The Hain Company

Eagle Metal

Enventek LLC

NWH Roof & Floor Truss Systems
