Please mention

Whitstable & Herne Bay Lions club was chartered in 1971 and is one of 46,000 service clubs in 208 countries worldwide which make up Lions Clubs International. Local men and women from all areas of the community regardless of race or religion can join. If you enjoy helping others, meeting like-minded people, making new friends, raising funds and making a difference whilst having fun then please get in touch (contact details below).

Who do we help? 85% of the money we raise is spent on local projects. We donate Teddy Bears to the accident and emergency unit at Estuary View as well as to the local Ambulance Service. We support Medic Alert and Message in a Bottle which both give medics immediate vital information in the event of an emergency. The money local people have generously donated has enabled us to help many organisations and individuals including; Greenhill Gymnastics club, Whitstable and Herne Bay Sea Cadets, Whitstable Sea Scouts, Kent and Surrey Air Ambulance, Strode Park, Whitstable Gymnastics Club, Pilgrims Hospice, Whitstable and Herne Bay Umbrella centres, Kent association for the Blind and Hope for Tomorrow a new mobile Cancer unit. Additionally we run two annual Tea Dances for elderly and disabled people, one in Herne Bay and the other in Whitstable.
