If you are expecting a parcel or delivery that needs signing for, it is best to use the main College address as there will always be someone there to sign for it and it will be kept at the Porters’ Lodge until you can collect it. Deliveries to College are at your own risk.
The Porters’ Porters’ Lodge The Porters operate a 24-hour shift system at the Lodge located just inside the main College gates on North Bailey and can be contacted at any time on the mobile telephone number listed outside the Lodge.
Outside Hatfield Durham Students Union (DSU) The role of the DSU is rather different from that of students’ unions in other universities, mainly because of the major part that the colleges play in organising entertainment for their students. As a result, DSU concentrates on the provision of student services. All this is based in the prize-winning, concrete tour de force that is Dunelm House, across Kingsgate footbridge from Hatfield. The DSU houses the Kingsgate Bar and Riverside Café and is where you will find the University Welfare Office, the Student Community Action Office, the DUCK Office, Team Durham Office and Purple Radio Station.
