62 When the matter of supplanting was raised in the CAA’s survey of

1985, Australia reported that this issue gave rise to the greatest number of complaints, but this issue has since become the subject of regulation and is now less problematic. Interestingly, and despite regulation, it appears to remain an issue in several other countries. In the 2017 survey, 50% of architecture institutes reported supplanting as a problem. In this year’s survey, that has increased to 57%. Supplanting appears to be much less of an issue for other disciplines.
