• Begin by sectioning the hair

• The key point of this technique is making sure to interlock and connect the sections on opposite side of the head *Continue instructions on page 2

COLOUR T ECHNIQUE

• Part hair oﬀ center toward the left side. Make a part from the division point behind the ear on a slight diagonal. Section oﬀ four panels diagonally toward the front on the small side and clip. Move to the other larger side and section into four matching panels. Clip those pannels secure. • This will leave a large upside down “V” shape along the top back of the head

• Apply (1) 12.0 + 40 Volume Developer to all the sections of the hair not clipped, including the hairline and “V” shaped back. Overlay with foil • Start with the panel at the back right side. Take a small amount of hair from the top part of the right side, keeping in alignment with the left panel clip over and incorporate into the left side panel. Apply (2) Lightener + 10 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil. • On the next panel, coming from left side, Apply (3) 1 oz. 8.0 + ½ oz. 7.55 + ½ oz. 9.4 + 20 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil. • Continue this pattern and alternate formulas, as with braiding.

PROCESSING T IME Process the colour for 30 minutes.

RINSE AND SHAMPOOING • Rinse the colour thoroughly with luke warm water sneezing the ends to ensure all colour has been removed and remove all extra water. • Apply shampoo using circular motions to massage the scalp creating a lather, rinse using luke warm water, squeezing the ends to remove extra water. • Apply conditioner concentrating on the tips of the hair, rinse thoroughly using luke warm water. • Proceed to use a hair mask (if the hair has any damage this step is recommended) leave the hair mask on for 5 to 10 minutes proceed to rinse thoroughly using luke warm water.

FINISHING OF F Workup the hair by applying hair serum and blowing it out using a round thermal brush.

COLOUR T ECHNIQUE

Begin by isolating a segment just above the round in the fringe area (bang area). Create a slice, lay foil and apply (1) lightener + 20 Volume Developer on a diagonal oﬀ the mid shaft through the ends. Fold foil over to protect. Create another slice directly above the previous segment and apply (1) lightener + 20 Volume Developer directly onto the previous foil from just oﬀ of the scalp to the ends. Establish another slice directly above the previous segment and apply (1) lightener + 20 Volume Developer on a diagonal from mid shaft through the ends, this time reversing the diagonal to face the other direction. Fold the foil over again. Moving to the left side of the head shape, closer to the hairline, repeat the above steps. On the right side, behind the hairline at the side, isolate another segment. Create one slice and apply (1) lightener + 20 Volume Developer on a diagonal. Fold foil to protect. Repeat the three section technique along the right and left top rounds of the head.

PROCESSING T IME Process the colour for 20 minutes.

FRINGE SECTION (bang area): Part from in front of the ear left across the fringe (bang area) to the corner of the right eyebrow using a clip secure this section. TOP SECTION: Begin parting at the corner of the righty eyebrow across the top to behind the ear. To complete the section, move back across the high point to the corner of the eyebrow. Using a clip secure this section. This section will resemble a crescent. MIDDLE “BAND” SECTION: Begin parting on the right, behind the ear across to behind the left ear. This is a large section and can be subdivided and using a clip secure this section. NAPE SECTION: This is the back section of the neck area.

Isolate the side and tops section, leaving out the fringe (bang area) and back, (below the occipital). Secure this section with a clip to protect the base. Apply (1) Lightener + 30 Volume Developer to the mid shaft and up near the clip. Apply lightener to both the top and underside of the section. Repeat lightener application on all clip-lights sections. * Note: Various volumes of developer with lightener can be used, depending on the desired end result

PROCESSING T IME Process the colour 5-10 minutes Rinse and shampoo to remove lightener. Power dry hair using a blow dryer.

Apply 1/8 of an oz. 3.556 + 3 oz of 20 Volume Developer from scalp to ends on dry hair for permanent results.

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE WET CUT

STAR SHAPE

Create a star shaped pattern on the top of the head, sectioning and clipping oﬀ each “ray”. Also section and clip from the center of the ear forward.

Starting in the center back, pull hair straight out from the head and cut desired length. Moving toward the left, take another vertical section and direct into the previously cut section. Continue moving toward the left ear, repeating the previous step and stopping at the ear. On the right side repeat the above steps.

WET CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE continued...

Release the right side ear section. Comb diagonally back into the previous section and cut any remaining length.

Parietal Ridge (where the comb leaves the head)

After the hair is dry (blow dry) and smooth (ﬂat iron), section from above the parietal ridge on the right side diagonally back to the right ear.

Clip top hair away. Keeping hair in the comb and establishing the line and length, cut the hair. Adjust the cut line necessary.

Moving into the nape (back of the neck) area, customize the length and shape

On the top area, begin taking vertical sections and cut to remove weight. Add movement as desired throughout the hair shape, slicing as needed to deﬁne the star pattern.

Begin by creating a circle on the crown of the head.

On the remaining hair not in clip apply (2) Keratonz Yellow Passion. Overlay with foil.

Create a total of 5 rays, or upside-down triangles, around the circle. Each ray travels to just below the parietal ridge. Clip away.

Release the rays and apply (3) Keratonz Blue Magic.

SIDE PART

SIDE PART CURVED PARTING

After Shampooing & Conditioning. Start by forming a side part.

Take curved parting beginning at the part line. Part to behind the ear and comb the section in the natural fall.

The ďŹ rst section should be approximately one inch back from hairline. Establish the length by cutting front to back. Tap the hair gently above the ears to release tension. Hold the hair with the comb rather than ďŹ ngers using no tension. Continue one section past the center.

CURVED SECTIONS

Continue using curved sections from the part to the nape area. Using a small part of the previously cut section as the guide. The hair should be combed to its natural fall using no over direction tension.

Going back to side one. Take a vertically curved section from the crown area to behind the ear and then to the top of the ear Pull the section straight out from the head with no over–direction to build graduation. Continue graduation through the center back.

Blow dry the hair using Hair & Body Serum and Round brush to prepare for the dry cut.

Repeat Steps 1 & 2 on the opposite side. Checking to enusre that both sides are equally balanced.

5 CENTER BACK

Repeat on the opposite side. Reverse ﬁnger position to ensure consistent graduation. The Tension throughout the hair cut should be consistentlyt maintained. Cross check for balance.

Detail the interior using horizontal sections. Begin at the crown and Point Cut the edges to soften. Be reserved with the dry cut to ensure that the graduation is not aﬀected. Finish the perimeter using the points of the scissors to create the ﬁnal shape.

Lift the fringe and Point Cut to create a soft line. Finish with work up using Moisture Mist Spray.

TIP: POINT CUTTING - Haircutting technique in which the tips of the scissors are used to cut points into the ends of the hair.

STARTING POINT

Starting at the left temple, begin to section straight across following until just behind the left ear, creating a diagonal parting to just below the occipital in the center back of the head.

Let down the top section of the hair. Starting in back, you will be creating diagonal sections slice from bottom to top creating the ﬁrst diagonal “stair” and apply (2) Lightener + 20 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil.

FIRST “STAIR”

STARTING POINT

Starting at the right temple, begin to sectin straight across following until just behind the left ear, creating a diagonal parting to just below the occipital in the center back of the head.

Continue sectioning “stairs” to the top of the sections, alternating formulas making sure to end the (2) Lightener + 20 Volume Developer.

Ensure the sectioned hair is secure and out of the way of the clip.

Apply to the bottom section of the hair not clipped (1) the equal parts 9.3 + 8. 31 + 1/8 of an oz of Mix-G + 20 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil.

NOTE: Using the back of your comb as a guide / ruler check for geometric balance, continue the process.

BOTTOM SECTION

PROCESSING T IME Process the color 35 minutes; process dual purpose lightener until desired lightness is achieved.

Section the hair by making a circular halo section at the back round of the head. Clip away. Create another section from ear indentation to ear indentation, making sure to establish a left side parting in that section. Above the left ear, create a 2-inch square section and clip oﬀ separately Clip away remaining hair at nape

At the left parting in front, take a vertical parting straight oﬀ the head to the right, shape and establish your length. This will serve as your guide. Working in this section, over-direct each section to the ﬁrst cut section. Continue through the section on the right side. * Repeat on the left side, leaving the square section still in the clip.

RIGHT SECTION FIRST CUT

CENTER PART

Focusing on the back section. Begin by making a center parting and secure with a clip oﬀ to the right side. FIRST CUT - Take a vertical section and direct hair up. With palm facing up and scissors down, cut short to long while establishing your guide. Continue on the left side, bringing the next section to the previous section straight back. Stop at the left ear.

To ensure there is balance on both sides release the left section and check. Release the top section. For heat protection and shine apply a small amount of hair serum throughout the hair. Proceed to blow-dry the hair smooth using a thermal round brush and complete the hair by using a ﬂat iron. Begin removing weight throughout the shape using Slicing Technique (see * note) to blend the exterior into the interior. Chip into the fringe area (bang area) to add separation and movement to the design.

*Repeat on the right side.

Finish the hair by styling. *NOTE: Slicing is a technique that removes bulk and adds movement through the lengths of the hair. When slicing, twist the section of hair to be cut and never completely close the scissors. Use only the portion of the blades near the pivot. This prevents removing large pieces of hair.

Place the section on a foil. Apply (1) 2 oz. 5.3 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer from the scalp down approximately 2-3 inches, feathering oﬀ avoid a harsh stop line. Apply (2) 2 oz. 7.45 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer on the same section. overlapping slightly at the stop line of formula (1) to ends. Overlay with foil.

Section oﬀ the top section of the head in the form of a cirlce, above the occipital bone and ends below the crown. Using a clip secure this section. Beginning on the left side, just behind the left ear, create a diagonal slice from the bottom of the circular section toward the front line.

Take another diagonal slice above the previous section and lay foil. Apply (1) 2 oz. 5.3 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer in the same manner as above. Next apply (3) 2 oz. 11.3 + 3 oz. 30 Volume Developer from stop line to ends. Overlay with foil. Create an additional clear diagonal slice. In the same manner as above apply (1) 2 oz. 5.3 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer and (4) 2 oz. 4.7 + 1/8 oz. Mix-Gold + 3.12 oz. 20 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil. Once ﬁnished, release the top circular section and apply (5) 2 oz. 5.3 + 1/8 oz. Mix-Copper + 3.12 oz. of 20 Volume Developer 20 Volume Developer from scalp to ends. PROCESSING TIME: 30 minutes

Create an isolated section behind the fringe above the right eye. Lay foil, subsection and apply (1) lightener + 20 volume developer on a diagonal through the ends. Fold foil over sections. Subsection again and apply (1) lightener + 20 volume developer from the base of the hair through the ends. Cover the section using the same foil. On the last subsection, apply (1) lightener + 20 volume developer, again slightly oﬀ the scalp through the ends. Cover with foil. Repeat on the opposite side of the fringe area (bang area). Move back along the round of the head shape on both sides, repeating the same process as above. The number of section will be based on the desired end results PROCESSING TIME: 20 minutes Remove foil, Rinse the colour thoroughly with luke warm water sneezing the ends to ensure all colour has been remove the moisture from the hair.

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE WET CUT • Part the hair at its natural part line. Starting on the right side, use a horizontal diagonal back section parallel to the hairline. • Elevate below 90 degrees and cut the hair with ﬁnger parallel to the subsection. • Continue to take parallel partings and work up toward the parting. • Each section is combed to the previous to ensure accurate elevation. • In the nape (back of the neck), sections will cross the center because of the diagonal sectioning. Buildup of weight should be present at the crown. • On the left side, begin with the same sectioning, only allowing for more length to create the asymmetry. • Continue to work around the head shape for a lean round geometry. • Sections will crisscross at the nape, reducing the excess buildup of weight. • Apply hair and body serum to the hair and blow- dry the shape using a thermal round brush using a wrapping technique. • Smooth the hair with a ﬂat iron.

Mix-Copper + 20 Volume Developer. • Create one more ring around the head, reversing the size once more and leave out an oﬀ-centered circular section on the top area of the head. Mix-Red + 1.75 oz. 30 Volume Developer. • In the circular section on top, create 3 opposing triangles within the circle. • Section the hair into four sections, from front to back and ear to ear. • Beginning in the left front quadrant, slice a ¼ inch section straight across at the bottom of the section. Lay foil. • Apply (1) Lightener + 20 Volume Developer ¼ inch away from the scalp through the ends. Fold the foil using a a ﬁrm object like comb tail or pencil to enclose the product. • Repeat the same process, working from the bottom of the section to the round of the head. Complete all four sections. PROCESSING TIME: Process to approximately 2/3 of the desired lightness.

• Slightly pull the foil until the lightener line of demarcation is visible. • Gently apply a fresh mixture of (1) Lightener + 20 Volume Developer to the regrowth only. Begin in the front, then move to the back sections. PROCESSING TIME: check for and process to the desired lightness. • Rinse the lightener thoroughly from the hair with Shampoo.

• Create a horseshoe shaped section, from recession to recession on the round of the head. Secure thr top section with a clip. • Apply (2) ½ oz. 6.56 + ½ oz. 6.54 + 1.5 oz. 30 Volume Developer to hair below the round. Comb through for through saturation. • Moving to the top section and beginning at the center back, create a circular section. Using a beveled sponge, apply (1) ½ oz. 5.56 + ½ oz. 5.54 + 1.5 oz. 20 Volume Developer to the section; subsection as necessary. Twist the section to keep it separate from the others. • Create another circular section to the left side of the previous section and apply (3) ½ oz. 6.56 + 1/4 oz. 8.4 + ¼ oz. 7.55 + 1.5 oz. 30 Volume Developer. • Continue working on the left side of the head and create the next circular section. Apply (2) ½ oz. 6.56 + ½ oz. 6.54 + 1.5 oz. 30 Volume Developer. • Continue creating circular sections on the left side, working toward the face and alternating formulas (1), (3) and (2) (in this order) Finish with ½ oz. 6.56 + ½ oz. 6.54 + 1.5 oz. 30 Volume Developer in the center front • Work the right side in the same manner, alternating formulas (3), (2) and (1) (in this order), meeting back at the previously coloured center front section. • Return to the starting point. Create another circular section inside the already coloured perimeter and just left of the center back. Apply (2) ½ oz. 6.56 + ½ oz. 6.54 + 1.5 oz. 30 Volume Developer. Continue creating circular shaped sections and alternate formulas (1), (2) and (3) inside the perimeter. • Once you have ﬁnished creating all the circular sections, apply (2) ½ oz. 6.56 + ½ oz. 6.54 + 1.5 oz. 30 Volume Developer to the scalp area in between the “circular sections” to ensure a thorough application.

• Begin by sectioning a circle shaped section approximately 2 inches back from the hairline and slightly oﬀ center. Using a clip secure the section. • Next, part from the front side of the circle diagonally down toward the front hairline then horizontally back past the circle, them diagonally up to intersect the top of the triangle on the opposite side. • This forms a square shaped section. Secure with a clip. • Finally, part oﬀ an upside- down triangle shaped section on the opposite side. The section is parted from the top down to just in front of The ear and just behind the ear up to the back of the circle. • Using a clip secure the section.

• Apply (1) 1/2 oz. 7.55 + 1/2 oz. 4.0 + 1.5 oz. 20 Volume Developer to perimeter section and overlay with foil. Apply to mid-shaft and ends. • Apply (2) 1 oz. 7.55 + 1 oz. 5.0 + 3 oz. 30 Volume Developer to the triangular section and overlay with foil. Apply to the mid-shaft and ends. • Apply (3) 1 oz. 12.0 + 1/4 oz. Mix-Blue 2oz. Volume Developer to the mid-shaft and ends of the square section. Then apply (4) 1 oz. 12.0 +1/4oz. • Create an oﬀ center-part, working with the curve of the head on a slight diagonal forward to below the round of the head. • Apply (5) Apply the conditioner or lotion (colour block) along the part to secure the foil and create a platform. Place foil in an upward direction. • Working front to back, slice a slightly thicker section of hair (no wider than the foil). Place hair against foil, and apply (2) Lightener + 30 volume developer to the ends only. Apply (1) Lightener + 10 volume developer oﬀ scalp and through the mid-shaft, feathering into the ends. You may apply (5) Apply the conditioner or lotion (colour block) at the scalp to help secure the foil if necessary. Over lay with foil. • Lay the next section onto previous foil and apply (5) Apply the vaseline or lotion. Overlay with foil. • Continue stair-stepping or brick laying foils, stopping just below the round of the head and alternating between (5) Apply the conditioner or lotion (colour block), (1) lightener + 10 volume developer and (2) lightener + 30 volume developer. Bend the foils over slightly to create a platform for the other side. • Repeat steps on opposite side. NOTE: Applying lightener to the top and bottom of the hair section will add extra lightness

PROCESSING TIME: Until a level 7 orange is achieved • Remove foil, rinse thoroughly, and shampoo with Colour shampoo, remove moisture from the hair.

• Creating a checker pattern start at the back of the fringe area (Bang Area). Once you have created completed that section, immediately beneath that section, add a slice section. Apply foil for a platform.

• Apply (1) Lightener +10 Volume Developer from the scalp, stopping at the mid-shaft where the checker pattern pieces live. In between the checker pieces apply (1) Lightener + 10 Volume Developer from the middle of the hair shaft through the ends. Overlay with foil. • Proceed to repeat this above steps to the top rounds of both the left and the right side. PROCESSING TIME: 20 minutes

• Remove foil, rinse thoroughly and shampoo with color shampoo. Remove the moisture from the hair. • Apply (2) Keratonz Magenta from the scalp to the ends of the hair. PROCESSING TIME: 15 minutes we recommend using heat for more vibrancy.

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE WET CUT:

• Begin by section the hair into the 5 sections. • The starting point will be right above the right ear (the right pannel), take a vertical diagonal forward section. Over-direct back and cut a subtle graduated line at the desired length. • Proceed with the same sections until the front hairline is reached. • Moving into the nape area (back of the head near hairline) at the low panel in the back, take a vertical diagonal back section starting at the hair line behind the ear (mastoid). Cut by connecting to the previously cut panel. Elevate the hair 90 degree and crate a concave layer to maintain length in the back, over-directing to the right. • Continue to over-direct the sections one after the other to the right until all the hair has been cut. This will create a heavier balance towards the left. Repeat on the left side, checking for balance. • In the nape area (back of the head at the hair line), sections crisscross to create a narrow peak of weight down the center back. • In the section above the occipital bone, starting in the center, take vertical diagonal forward section and over-direct straight back. Elevate at 90 degrees, cutting a layer to remove weight at the crown and create a more head-hugging silhouette. Continue until all sections have been brought back. • On the top section, create a vertical “Mohawk” Section in the center. Over-direct to the back, connecting to underneath section to create shorter lengths in the crown and longer lengths in the front. • Over-direct hair to the center for remaining sections. • In fringe area (bang area), over-direct to the opposite side and cut the hair to create a soft, sweepy fringe. • Blow dry the hair and shape using a thermal round brush to add volume. Then smooth the hair with a ﬂat iron.

DRY CUT:

• Begin to personalize the nape area and remove additional weight, creating added movement as desired throughout the hair shape. • Complete the style with Hair Serum giving the hair shine and protection.

• Begin by sectioning two rectangular sections. The first one is off-centered to the left, and the next is off-centered toward the back on the round of the head. Begin pre-lightened the rectangles using the Platinum Card technique and formula (1) Lightener + 10 Volume Developer. • On the remaining hair, apply formula (2) 1 oz. 6.56 + 1 oz. 3.0 + 1/4 oz. • Section the hair into four quadrants. • Starting in the nape (back of the head hair line), take a low horizontal section on the left side of the head. • Hold hair inside the fingers and over-direct straight back, elevating just above 90 degrees to ensure a buildup of weight. • Take parallel subsections moving up toward the top. Always comb onto the previously cut section below for accuracy. Repeat on the right side. • On side to back by establishing a corner right behind the ear. Cut with your fingers angles away from the front of the face to maintain a triangular shape. • Continue to bring section down 45 degrees until no hair is left. Repeat on the opposite side, adjusting the fingers angle to create asymmetry. • Next, take a horizontal section to the apex (top of the head). Continue horizontal sectioning through the front, over-directing to the apex (top of the head). The sectioning is horizontal but the hair will fall vertically. • Establish a layer using the outside of your fingers and over-direct back. Cut a flat line parallel to the ceiling and continue to take parallel sections up to the front hairline while over-directing each section back. • Apply Hair Serum and blow dry using a thermal round brush. Once dry, smooth the hair using a flat iron.

DRY CUT:

• Begin to personalize the nape area (back of the head hair line) and remove additional weight, creating added movement as desired throughout the hair shape.

• Begin by creating an oﬀ centered triangle section from the recession area to the top back of the head and back to just past the recession area on the other side. Using a clip secure this section. • Next, create another large upside-down triangle in the back of the head, oﬀ center with the point of the triangle falling just below the occipital. Using a clip secure this section. • Apply formula (2) 1 oz. 7.55 + 1 oz. 5.0 + 1 oz. 12.1 + 4.5 oz. 20 Volume Developer to the triangle section with a sponge applicator brush, hand painting at the scalp area and saturating through the ends for the last 10 minutes. • Apply formula (1) 1 oz. 7.55 + 1 oz. 3.0 + ½ oz. Mix-Copper + 3.75 oz. 20 Volume Developer to the regrowth of the remaining hair. Bring through mid-shaft and ends for the last 5 minutes. Total PROCESSING TIME: 35 minutes Rinse the colour thoroughly with luke warm water sneezing the ends to ensure all colour has been removed and remove all extra water. • Apply shampoo using circular motions to massage the scalp creating a lather, rinse using luke warm water, squeezing the ends to remove extra water. • Dry the hair. • Section the hair into four sections, from front to back and ear to ear • Beginning in the left front quadrant, slice a ¼ inch section straight across at the bottom of the section. Lay foil. *Continue instructions on page 2.

Part oﬀ the top section oﬀ-center over the right eye. Secure with a clip. This section has three points and is similar to a “Y” shape. The width, length and exact shape of the section will be based on the amount of colour you wish to see and where you want to place the most or least visible colour. Begin parting at the recession at the hairline and follow the parietal ridge (round of the head) through the occipital bone on both sides. This is your “Base” section. Using a clip secure this section. The last section is the section below the parietal ridge and the occipital bone. Using a clip secure this section.

• STEP A- Part off a wide “cat-eye” shaped center strap. Secure with a clip. This section will come to a point at the front hairline and end at a point in the back crown area, Take the “cowlick” into consideration when determining how far the center strap will need to travel down the back. The Colour should diffuse softly from the “cowlick” when the hair is dry. • STEP B- Beginning at the back point of the top strap, take a diagonal parting to the hairline just behind the ear on both sides. Secure with a clip. This section will incorporate the entire nape area. • STEP C- Part off two diagonal forward section on both side. Secure sections with a clip. The diagonal sections on both side should mirror each other. Begin the diagonal sectioning in the back.

• Work with clean parting to ensure that the foils align with the part in order to protect the colour underneath. • Apply colour to new growth and process for 15 minutes. For all formulas, remix and apply to mid-shaft and ends for the remaining 20 minutes.

• Begin the colour application in the center back section. Apply (1) 2 oz. 4.7 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil. • Release the ﬁrst diagonal strap and apply (2) 1 oz. 4.7 +1 oz. 6.7 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil. • Move to the next diagonal strap and apply (3) 2 oz. 6. 7 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil.

• Continue colour application, alternating formulas. • Apply colour application, alternating formulas.

• Fold down excess foil at the top of the straps to expose the “cat eye” shaped center strap.

• Release, divide and clip oﬀ the center strap into ﬁve diagonal sections. The direction of straps in the “cat eye” shaped sections is based on the desired end results. • Begin the Colour applications, working from back to front. • Place a horseshoe section at the top of the head to just behind the ears. Divide the sections vertically, clipping them neatly away from the front section. • Take a vertical section at the center back. Elevate and cut short too long to create a concave layer and maintain the length. Cut on the outside of the fingers. Body position is key. Pull each section to the previous, maintaining even tension. Continue around the head shape. Slightly over direct the section behind the ear toward the middle to protect the corner. • Repeat on the opposite side and maintain the same body position. • Switch to a curved shear. Release the front section. Use the length of the fringe as a guide. (if there is no pre-existing fringe, determine the desired length and cut a strong fringe line using no elevation) Take a vertical section from the center part to the hairline. Comb forward, pull straight out (high elevation) and cut using the guide from the fringe. Cut short to long, maintaining even tension. Complete the front section, combing everything to the original guide • Repeat on the opposite side. Body, hand and finger position are reversed. • Release one side of the middle section. Over-direct *see note each section forward. Repeat on the remaining section. • Blow-dry the hair using hair oil and a thermal round hair brush. Smmoth using a flat iron. • Refine the design using vertical section and a slicing technique with curved shears. Work from short to long, moving around the head shape to remove interior weight. * NOTE: Over Direction - Combing a section away from its natural falling position, rather than straight out from the head, toward a guideline; used to create increasing lengths in the interior or perimeter

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE

• Start at the top of the head (crown) by creating a circular “halo”, using a clip secure the section. Create another section in the fringe (bang area), starting at the outside corner of the eyebrows on both sides using a clip secure this section. Create another section from below the back of the head (crown) section to just below the occipital bone (the back of the head hair line), using a clip secure this section. • Choose a side to start and starting at the hairline, section straight out and cut approximately ½ inch to ¾ inch of the section, leaving length. Over-direct to the original guide for the next section. Continue to section behind the ear. Repeat on opposite side. Release sides and clip all hair out of the way. • Release the subsection above occipital bone. Create center section elevate and cut short to long, creating a concave layer. Continue to the next section and over direct each section to the original guide. Complete the section and repeat on the opposite side. Releasing the sides securely clip the hair out of the way. • Release the top crown section, starting with the center section and sub sectioning. Pull hair straight off of the head and cut short too long. Taking manageable amounts of hair, create another vertical section pivoting off the center front and bring to the original center guide using moderate tension. Repeat on opposite side • Apply hair serum, using a theraml round brush blow dry the hair and use a flat iron to smooth. • Focusing on the top section, take curved parting and point cut to add softness and texture to the design. At the crown, twist a small section together tightly. Using the “V” of the scissors. Slice downward from the ends to the scalp for volume. Cut the fringe (bang area) with slight elevation in comb. Point cut for softer edges around the fringe and perimeter. • Finish with worked up to hold the style.

COLOUR T ECHNIQUE

• Mix as many or as few Keratonz colors as you choose into a reﬁllable bottle of (soft hold hairspray). Mix to the eye. Remember, the more keratonz you add, the more vibrant the color and the deeper the tone. Always use more hairspray than Keratonz, spray onto paper towels to check tone. • Create a circular section at the top of the head (crown) and securely slip away. This section will serve as a “veil” over the graﬃti • Using a freehand technique, begin spraying the hairspray/Keratonz mixture onto the hair to enhance the haircut design. Use stencils or cardboard to create bold, graphic designs and stronger lines. • Blow hair dry and brush through. PROCESSING TIME: 30 minutes NOTE: To remove the Keratonz and soft spray mixture from hair, shampoo serval times until color is removed. Color balancing can be done if necessary. Follow with

the appropriate conditioner.

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE WET CUT:

• Begin sectioning by following the parietals ridge through the crown, creating a rectangle on the top. Clip away. Create a center part down the back of the head creating two sections. Clip away. Split the rectangle into 3 triangles to form an “M”. • On the right front side, start with curved section from the front hairline into the nape. Comb straight down to create the outline length with zero-degree elevation. • On the next section, take a vertical diagonal section angled toward the back. Elevate straight out from the head using the outline as a guide. Continue into the back using no over-direction. At the back left corner, start over-directing back toward the right side, creating asymmetry through the left side. • On the top, release the back triangle. Using your previous outline as the guide to establish length, pull sections straight oﬀ of the head and channel cut the hair going from shorter to longer. Pivot the sections within the triangle and over-direct all of the hair from this triangle to the original sectioning. • Release the middle triangle and repeat the above steps. • Apply hair oil to the hair. Using a thermal round brush, blow the hair dry, beveling slightly under.

Long • Beginning on the top center back of the head shape, hold hair straight up oﬀ the head and begin removing weight and creating movement at the ends. Repeat around the perimeter of the head. • Next begin slicing pieces of hair to remove additional weight and enhance the hair shape. • Creating a strong line in the fringe are. RINSE AND SHAMPOOING • Rinse the colour thoroughly with luke warm water sneezing the ends to ensure all colour has been removed and remove all extra water. • Apply shampoo using circular motions to massage the scalp creating a lather, rinse using luke warm water, squeezing the ends to remove extra water. • Apply conditioner concentrating on the tips of the hair, rinse thoroughly using luke warm water. • Proceed to use a hair mask (if the hair has any damage this step is recommended) leave the hair mask on for 5 to 10 minutes proceed to rinse thoroughly using luke warm water.

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE

• Separate the hair into four quadrants using a center parting through to the nape and from ear to ear. Secure with a clip. • Create four triangles sections using the natural rounds of the head as the guide. Secure each section with a clip.

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE

• On the side, take vertical sections and comb the hair straight back, elevating to meet the already established length in the back. Release the top sections.

• Apply Hair and Body Serum, proceed to dry the hair using a blow dryer and thermal round brush. Smooth the hair with ﬂat iron.

• Begin by creating a circular shape on the top of the head. Using the circle as a guide, begin creating a “V” shape around the perimeter of the circle. Apply (1) 2 oz. Clear + ¼ oz. Mix-Gold + 3.75 oz. 10 Volume Developer to the circle as well as the “V” shape • Beneath that row, section out another diamond shape in between each “V” Apply (2) 2 oz. Mix-Violet + 3 oz. 10 Volume Developer. • Repeat the above process as desired, alternating formulas (1) and (2) • Apply (1) 2 oz. + 1/4 oz. Mix-Gold + 3.75 oz. 10 Volume Developer to the remainder of the hair.

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE WET CUT:

• Beginning on th left side, section from recession area at the hairline along the parietal ridge, curving below the crown to the right side. Use a clip to secure away. • Next, section on the right side recession area at the hairline, curving along the parietal ridge to the lower right side of the crown. Use a clip to secure away. • In the right temporal area, take diagonal back sections. Holding the section in the comb, cut the perimeter length below the ear (in a round geometry) from shorter in the front to longer in the back. • Using the same movement repeat all the way around the head, gradually cutting the perimeter longer toward the opposite side. • Using an off center parting in the back area on the right, begin taking diagonal forward sections in the nape area. Elevate the hair 45 degrees using the perimeter length behind the ear as a guide length for graduation. • Moving up the head, take diagonal forward sections into the front area and over-direct the hair back into the previous section. Repeat on the opposite side. • In the crown area, take vertical sections and elevate the hair 90 degrees from the head shape, cutting a convex layer using the previously cut hair from graduation as a guide. Continue taking vertical sections towards the opposite side crown, over-directing the hair to the first section. • Taking vertical sections from the apex down the left side of the head. Elevate the hair 90 degrees from the top of the head, cutting the hair flat. Continue taking vertical sections toward the front hairline, over-directing the hair back to the stationary guide at the apex. • On the right side of the head, take vertical sections. Elevating the hair 90 degrees off the parietal ridge, cut a convex layer using the graduation from underneath as your guide. Continue taking vertical sections toward the front hairline, over-directing the hair to the previously cut sections.

DRY CUT:

After drying the hair shape into place, begin detailing the perimeter. Add the fringe area (bang area) by holding the hair in the comb and cutting the length and shape as desired.

• Applying the colour will depend on the haircut and you can leave a small section of the fringe (bang area) out for protection this is up to you. • Begin by sectioning from the edge of the eyebrow slightly diagonal back to the round of the head, then section back to the front, creating a triangular shape. The base of the triangle should be roughly inches wide at the front. This creates the center triangle. Use a clip to secure away. • To form the right corner triangle, section along the parietal ridge and across the round of the head to meet the point of the center triangle. Use a clip to secure away. • Repeat on the left side. • Begin by applying (1) Vaseline or Conditioner to the hair not clips to outline and protect the sections. • Overlay with foil. • On the left triangle shape, apply (2) 2 oz. 10.3 +1/2 oz. Mix-Gold + 3.75 oz. 20 Volume Developer. • Finishing with right triangle, apply (3) ½ oz. 10.1+ 1 ½ oz. T-61 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer.

PROCESSING T IME Process the colour 35 minutes.

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE WET CUT: • Create a center parting then section from the apex to the indentation behind the ear. Repeat on each side and clip away each section. This creates a “T” parting. • Section from the recession at the front hairline along the parietal ridge on both side to form two rectangular shapes. Use a clip to secure. • Next, section from the parietal ridge above the ear to the center back and below the crown on both side. Use a clip to secure. • Taking horizontal diagonal back sections in the back left segment, elevate the hair 90 degrees and cut the hair from short to long from the center toward the ear. Take concurrent sections, moving down the head shape and over-directing the hair to the ﬁrst section. • Repeat on the opposite side. • On the side sections, section the hair from below the parietal ridge from the front hairline to above the ear horizontally. Elevate the section 90 degrees or higher. Cut the hair from the front hairline to the previously cut hair behind the ear. Continue on each section that follows, coming to a stationary guide moving down the head. • Repeat on the opposite side. • On the top, section the hair horizontally. Keeping the hair at a low elevation, cut from the center toward the previously cut length on the sides, pulling the hair straight forward. • Move along the top in the same manner, cutting the hair in the same fashion and elevating slightly higher with each section. Continue until there is no remaining hair to be cut.

DRY CUT: • Detail the ﬁnished look by removing weight as desired

• Begin by sectioning from ear to ear across the top of the head. Next create a diagonal section from the right recession area to underneath the left ear. Repeat on the opposite side. Use a clip to secure away. • Take the top 2 inches of each top section triangle and gather together into a clip creating an octagon type shape. • Starting with the front section, take a slice oﬀ the bottom of that section lay foil, (3) 2 oz. 4.3 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil. • Divide the remaining hair in that section into two sections, sectioning diagonally from top to bottom. On the bottom diagonal, apply (2) 2 oz. 6.33 + 1 oz. 6.0 + 1 oz. 6.3 + 1/4 oz. Mix-Copper + 6.5 oz. 10 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil. • Finish the remaining hair in that section by applying (1) 1 oz. 12.0 + 1 oz. 12.1 + 1/4 oz. Mix-Violet + 3.35 oz. 40 Volume Developer mid-shaft through ends and feathering throughout the top. Overlay with foil. • Traveling to the right, move on to the next section, repeating the same sectioning and alternating the formulas. Formula (1) will always be applied mid-shaft through ends and feathered throughout the top. • On the top section, apply (2) 2 oz. 6.33 + 1 oz. 6.0 + 1 oz. 6.3 + ¼ oz. Mix-Copper + 6.5 oz. 10 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil.

Use a clip to secure away. • Beginning on the right side section, apply (1) 2 oz. 5.54 + ½ oz. 11.3 + 1/4 oz Mix-Red + 4.35 oz. 40 Volume Developer from mid-shaft to ends. TOTAL PROCESSING TIME: 15 minutes. Remix and apply at the scalp area. TOTAL PROCESSING TIME: 30 minutes. • Moving to the left section apply (2) 1 ½ oz. 7.1 + ½ oz. 12.3 + ¼ oz. • BASE: Take a ½ inch section from the “Mohawk” and apply (1) The color ½ oz 7.55 + ½ oz. 3.0 +1/2 oz. Mix-Red + 30 Volume Developer at the base regrowth of the section. Feather the color to avoid a straight line. • MID-SHAFT: Apply (2) 7.45 + ½ oz. Mix-Red + 30 Volume Developer to the middle lengths of section using a sponge. • ENDS: Apply (3) ½ oz. 6.4 + ½ oz. 6.54 +1 oz. 9.43 +1/4 oz. Mix-Red + 10 Volume Developer to the outside length of the section. • Continue through the hair, alternating the formulas to create the desired result. This free-form technique allows for creative options in color placement. • When working in the front of the “Mohawk” section, take diamond shaped section and continue with (1) ½ 7.55 + ½ 3.0 + ½ oz. CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE

• Section from the center of the right eyebrow, slightly curving back to the bottom of the nape. Using a clip secure this section. • Section from the outside corner of the right eyebrow across the top of the head to behind the left ear. Using a clip secure this section. • Create a diagonal section from the right parting at the occipital bones toward the middle of the left section. Creating the top section as well as the nape. Using a clip secure this section. • Beginning at the bottom nape (Section 1) take horizontal parting and elevate the first section 90 degrees. Each subsection that follows is brought down slightly lower than the previous section, creating a small buildup of weight. Section are over-directed straight back and cut flat • Release the right side (Section 2). Vertical diagonal sections are taken and over-directed back to maintain length towards the front. Hair is elevated 90 degrees with fingers slightly closer to the head at the bottom to create a graduated effect. Every section is slightly over-directed back until nothing reaches.

• Continuing on the rights side, horizontal sections are elevated straight up and cut parallel to ceiling to reduce weight. • On the left panel (Section 3) vertical diagonal sections are over-directed back behind the ear and elevated above 90 degrees to keep length while removing interior weight.

• Release the front section (section 4) Starting at the side part take diagonal sections and over-direct towards the part to create asymmetry. Hair is elevated straight up and cut square, parallel to the ceiling. • Moving to the top crown section (section 5), split the triangle in the center and lift hair straight up and layer short too long. Subsections are parallel and all are brought to the center, gradually allowing the hair to get longer.

• Detail the back perimeter using the tips of the scissors, following the hairline as a guide. The ﬁnal shape is dependent on the hairline. • Finish by applying Hair Oil damp hair.

CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE

• Begin by creating a cat-eye shaped section from the left eye, curving diagonally back to just below the crown. Secure with a clip

• On the right side, section from the outside corner of the curye and curve back to meet the previous section just below the crown. Secure with a clip

• On the left side, section from just above the ear, curving back to meet previous sections. Using a clip secure this section. • Apply (5) Apply conditioner (colour block) to the forehead area and then foil. Slice horizontal sections and lay onto foil. Apply (1) Lightener + 10 Volume Developer midway through hair shaft through the ends overlay with foil. • Create another slice, using a beveled sponge – apply (2) Lightener + 30 Volume Developer to the mid shaft through the ends. Next apply (1) Lightener + 10 Volume Developer just oﬀ the scalp, using a softer stroke during application. • Continue making slices and applying formulas (1) and (2) throughout the entire top section. Gently fold foils back on both sides when ﬁnished with section.

• On the right side, apply (5) Apply conditioner (use as colour block) to the hair not secured in a clip and apply foil Begin by taking horizontal sections and apply (3) 1 oz. 5.0 + 1/8 oz. Mix-Copper 1.75 oz. 30 Volume Developer, feathering from oﬀ scalp to ends through entire right side. Overlay with foil. • On the right side, apply (5) Conditioner (use as colour block) to the hair not secured in a clip and apply foil Begin by taking horizontal sections and apply (4) ½ oz. 7.45 + ½ 6.56 + 1.5 oz. 40 Volume Developer feathering from oﬀ scalp to ends through entire right side. Overlay with foil. PROCESSING TIME: 10 minutes

• Slice sections on the right side of the head at the round. Clip top section of hair up and out of the way • Apply (1) BC/clear at scalp area. Overlay with foil. • Section another slice of hair and hand paint (2) Keratonz Magenta+ dot of Tangerine from the mid shaft through the ends. Hand painting again, just oﬀ the scalp Apply (3) White + 1-part Yellow Passion + 1-part Tangerine. Overlay with foil. SCALP

• Continue slicing up the head shape, alternating all Inkworks formulas as desired in the same a manner as above until you reach the round of the left side

• Begin over either eye at the front hairline and divide the hair in half using a large zigzag parting. Using a clip secure one half of the hair out of the way. • From the point of each zigzag, part down to the hairline and using a clip secure this section. • Repeat this for each section.

• Take a slice approximately the width of the foil within a given section. Apply (1) 1 oz. 4.3 + 1 oz. 4.556 + 3 oz. 20 Volume Developer and secure with a foil packet. • Section the hair into 2 section by starting from above the center of the right eye, creating an arc and curving back. Finish at the back on the right side, ending at the occipital bone. Using a clip secure this section. Isolate from the occipital down, using a clip secure this section. • Begin at the top of the left side and take a ½ - inch thick slice diagonally to parting. • Apply (1) conditioner (Colour Block) to the section closest to the hairline. Next using a sponge. Apply (2) Lightener + 10 Volume Developer randomly on the hair section based on the client’s desired end result. Overlay with foil by placing the foil “up” in a “ﬁn-type” manner.

• Continue making diagonal slices and alternate (2) Lightener + 10 Volume developer (3) 2 oz. 5.0 + 3 oz. 30 Volume Developer and (1) conditioner (Colour Block) as desired through the entire left side. Place all foils in the “ﬁn”.

• Release the right side. Repeat the steps on the left side by beginning the ﬁrst slice diagonally from the front hairline toward parting, always placing foils in the “ﬁn” position.

NOTE: Four Teasy Hi-Lights are created. The sections are placed at all four corners of the head shape to provide subtle dimension (see diagram). Additional Teasy Hi-Lights can be used, depending upon the desired end result. • The Teasy Hi-Lights technique must be done on dry hair. • To help identify the “corners” part the hair oﬀ into four equal quadrants. Part down the center from the hairline to the nape and then from ear to ear across the top. • Take a rectangle section (approximately 1 inch by 2 inches) at the corner in the front section (see diagram). Pull the section straight up and back. Comb (tease) gently down to the base. Tease on the underside of the section, repeating until you have created a cushion of hair at the base of the section. Keep in mind that the hair left out is what will be lightened. • Place the foil over the base of the section using a rattail comb or chopstick. Apply (1) Lightener + 10 Volume Developer to the hair left out of the “tease”. Fold the foil. • Repeat the steps above for the remaining quadrants. PROCESSING TIME: Process to desired lightness (level 7 or 8 orange or yellow orange) • Rinse thoroughly and shampoo with shampoo. Towel Dry.

• Apply (2) 1oz. 3.0 + ½ oz. 4.3 + ½ oz. 2.0 + 3 oz. 10 Volume Developer to the entire design. PROCESSING TIME: 20 minutes

• Begin by taking a pie shaped segment on the top of the head from the outside corners of the eyes to crown. Using a clip secure this section away. • Next, section from the crown to behind the ears, creating a larger pie shaped section in the back of the head. Using a clip secure this section away. • With the remaining hair not in clips, create two additional pie shaped sections on each side and use a clip to secure this section.

• Apply formula (1) 1/2 oz. 9.4 + 1/2 oz. 7.55 + ½ oz. 7.45 + 1/8 oz. Mix-Copper + 2.75 oz. 20 Volume Developer to the back pie shape section from scalp to ends. • On the pie shaped section in the top front, apply formula (2) 1 oz. 6.54 + ½ oz. 7.45 + 2.25 oz. 20 Volume Developer to the regrowth area ﬁrst. Immediately spray moisture mist on the mid-shaft through the ends begin hand painting throughout that section. • On the sides at the sections closet to the face, apply formula (1) 1/2 oz. 9.4 + 1/2 oz. 7.55 + ½ oz. 7.45 + 1/8 oz. • Place 1 scoop of dual-purpose lightener into a bowl. Whisk the lightener prior to adding the developer. • Next add (1) 3 oz. of 10 volume developer. Mix thoroughly and then add the remaining 10 Volume Developer. • Whisk until the mixture is a creamy consistency (like a cake mix). • In another Colour bowl, mix (2) Lightener + 30 Volume Developer

• Divide the hair from the high point to the indentation on both side. • Vision the head as a clock using the high point or the crown as the starting point for all sections, part oﬀ pie shaped sections positioned at the “hour” desired. For example, section one could be at 2:00. Skip a section, and section two would be at 4:00, and so on. Using clips secure the sections. • Use the end of a comb to weave within the pie shaped sections. Keep in mind the more hair that is woven and coloured, the bolder the end result.

• Using foil for each section, apply the lightener ¼ - inch from the edge of the foil through the ends. • Alternate the 10 and 30 volume mixtures. Fold the foils in a triangle for clean application. • Continue through all the pie shaped sections.

• Start by creating a halo section on the top back of the head. Use a clip to secure this section out of the way. Create a deep side part on the left side just beyond the left corner of the eyebrow to just behind the right ear. Using a clip secure this section out of the way. Part another section from the corner of the left eyebrow to just behind the left ear. Secure with a clip. Using a clip secure the remainding hair. • Release a small side section of the deep side parting. Pulling straight out from the head, establish desired length and cut. Release remainder of deep side part section, take another section. Bring hair to the original guide and cut. Continue bringing the entire panel to the ﬁrst guide. • Release back section. Repeat over-directions of each section to the original guide in the front by using a “wrapping” technique. Be sure to comb the guide smooth and to maintain even tension and control. Work one section past the center and repeat on other side, always combing hair toward the body. Checking for balance continuously. • Begin at center back. Over-direct back and slice mid-shaft to ends to remove weight. Continue to behind the ear. • Apply hair serum to the hair and blow dry the perimeter moving to the halo section using a round thermal brush. • Beginning in center back, start slicing. Pulling the hair straight out, cut mid-shaft to ends to detail the surface. Blend the perimeter and check for balance (eveness). Elevate internal layers and slice cut to remove any excess weight from the design.

WET CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE • Section the hair into four quadrants section a center parting form forehead through the nape (hairline at the back of the neck) as well as from ear to ear. Using a clip secure the section. • Using the rounds of the head as a guide, create four triangle sections using a clip secure these sections. • In the back right quadrant, begin in the crown and take vertical sections to create a layer that follows the contour of the crown (top of the head). Over-direct the sections back for triangular weight balance. Repeat on the left side • Moving to the front triangles. The sections become horizontal. Continue layering as with previous triangles. Extend the line to get longer toward the front • Apply a mixture of sculpting foam and Round trip to the hair. Dry the hair with an express ion round large brush and the express ion dry

DRY CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE • Work around the crown of the head, elevating the hair and removing weight throughout the mid-shaft and ends. • Blend the top of the hair with the length by slicing the hair from the mid-shaft through the ends. • Point cut the fringe area (bang area), blending it into the hair surrounding the face. • Remove additional weight and create desired amount of added movement throughout the hair shape. • Turn the head upside down and generously apply moulding ﬁbre through the hair for added texture. Backcomb at the base as desired to further enhance the ﬁnal shape.

• Section a box shape in the hair from the recession area to the crown. Use a clip to secure away. Next, section from the back of the box shape to the ears and use a clip to secure away. • Starting at the nape (back of the neck at hair line), take a horizontal slice and apply (4) Conditioner (use as colour block). • Apply (1) 1.5 oz. 7.0 + 1.5 oz. 7.1+ 4.5 oz. 30 Volume Developer to a round brush. Take another horizontal slice and gently spin the brush through the length of the hair. Overlay with foil. • Repeat this process throughout the entire back section, alternating between formulas (1) and (2) and using (4) Conditioner (use as colour block) between each colour. • Travel to the sides of the head and repeat the above process. CUTT ING T ECHNIQUE WET CUT

Begin by sectioning the hair into four sections using clips secure each section. Using the natural rounds of the head, create four triangles. Starting in the center back, take vertical diagonal sections and cut graduation. With ďŹ ngertips up, over-direct the section back to create a triangular shape. Repeat on both sides, changing ďŹ nger position on the opposite side, release the triangle sections. These triangles are disconnected as to hang over the structure of the graduation

CURLY • Section the fringe area (bang area) out and secure with a clip. Apply a small amount of curl cream. • Begin taking small to medium-sized sections of hair and twist them tightly throughout the head shape. Twist each section so that it twists back into itself. • Release the fringe (bang area) and blow-dry smooth using the a thermal round brush. Using a diﬀuser, completely dry the twists • Once dry, separate the twist and style as desired.

SMOOT H • Apply hair serum throughout the hair. • Using a thermal round brush blow-dry the hair straight. • Finish the hair with a ﬂat iron.

COLOUR T ECHNIQUE

• Begin sectioning the hair by creating a curved box on the top of the head from the recession line to the crown. Use a clip to secure. • Next, from the back crown area, slightly curve downward to behind the ears on both sides using a clip secure.

• Starting on the right side, section out a curved section above the ear. Create triangular sections within that section. Lay foil and apply (1) Lightener + 20 Volume Developer. Fold foils into a triangular shape. • Continue creating the triangular shapes throughout both side sections. Moving to the back section and starting at the nape, create a curved section and repeat the above steps throughout the entire back section. Continue to the top front and repeat the process. PROCESSING TIME: 20 minutes Rinse thoroughly and shampoo with shampoo. Follow with conditioner or Colour Protect Reconstructive Treatment

FIRST CUT

Start with the front hairline. Take a small vertical section, pull out and stroke cut from short to long (top to bottom) Each section is over-directed to the previous. Repeat through one section past the center Locate the guide in the front and repeat on the opposite side. Side two is cut from bottom to top Check for balance

• Create a zigzag section from ear to ear and just below the occipital. The haircut shape should be considered when determining this section. Using a clip secure the hair away. Apply (1) 1 ½ oz. 8.0 + ½ oz. 7.0 + 3 oz. 10 Volume Developer. Overlay with foil.

• Section remaining hair into two sections from ear to ear across the top of the head separating the front from the back.

• Create a horizontal parting across the back just above the zigzag section, leaving the points of the zigzag down. Pick up the points into individual foils and apply (2) Lightener + 20 Volume Developer. • Create another ½ -inch horizontal section above the previous section. Based on the haircut and desired end Colour results, “brick lay” the foils using (2) Lightener + 20 Volume Developer. • In between the foils, choose random pieces of the hair and apply (1) 1 ½ oz. 8.0 + ½ oz. 7.0 + 3 oz. 10 Volume Developer. Hair texture and density should be taken into consideration. • Continue working up the head in the same manner, alternating formulas (1) and (2). • At the hairline in the front, place two diagonal weaved sections. • At the top of the ear, repeat the brick laying technique toward the top of the head. Stop at round. • Repeat on the opposite side.

• On the top front section, make a center part. Place two weaved sections at the front hairline and then continue taking diagonal slices toward the back. • Alternate (2) Lightener + 20 Volume Developer and (3) 1 oz. 9.0 + 1.5 oz. 10 Volume Developer

* NOTE: When alternating formulas, customizing the alternations is always an option based on desired end result. For added lightness, add a few highlights to hair not in foils.

Using a clip secure this section away. • At the top triangle section, begin taking a ½ -inch slice horizontally along the side, pivoting from the point of the triangle. Using (1) Lightener + 10 Volume Developer, begin hand painting this section. Overlay with foil. Continue pivoting oﬀ the point of the triangle toward the center, hand painting with formula (1) Lightener + 10 Volume Developer. • At the center, move to the other side and repeat the process. * NOTE: You may choose to hand paint throughout the entire head shape for added lightness and dimension.

PROCESSING TIME: 20 minutes or until desired amount of lightness is achieved Rinse thoroughly and using a colour protecting shampoo cleanse the hair. Towel Dry.

• Recreate the top triangle section on the top of the head. Using a clip secure this section away.

• On the back section, using the top triangle section as a reference, create another large triangle shaped section directly opposing the top section. Secure section with a clip. Create three opposing triangles on each side of the head.
