A Federally protected National Monument since 1908, this primeval forest is both refuge and laboratory. Plan ahead as reservations are needed to visit this special place. During the busy summer travel season both shuttle tickets and parking reservations can sell out many days in advance. You can avoid the hassle of shuttle tickets by purchasing tickets with Sausalito Muir Woods Tour at the Visitor Kiosk located near the ferry landing or at the Sausalito Visitor Center 22 El Portal, Sausalito. Hiking in and around Sausalito includes the Marin Headlands, Tennessee Valley, Angel Island and our famous staircases. Maps provided by The Inn Above Tide can be found at the Visitor Center.

Our beautiful Bay invites many ways to enjoy the water from chartered sailing to sea kayaking. Enjoy by yourself or bring a group of friends or colleagues for some team building on the Bay. If you’re riding your bike over the Golden Gate Bridge, it’s impossible to not pass through Sausalito. You can park your bike all day near the ferry landing so you can be close to the downtown area and the ferry. If you are headed back to San Francisco with your bike and don’t want to attempt the ride back, Blue & Gold Ferry will be happy to take you back.
