Essential Duties / Responsibilities: Responsible for the development and management of the facilities maintenance operating budget and capital projects during the calendar year, including forecast. Coordinate and implement an effective preventive maintenance program that grants a minimum operation downtime for all utilities and support systems. Develop an environmental and safety compliance program to ensure the plant’s full compliance with the local and federal regulations. Develop and implement an energy conservation and efficiency program to reduce the energy cost down to a minimum. Generate and manage the department’s annual operational budget and CAPEX as well as responsibilities for KPI tracker achievement and follow up. Maintain in good standing the plant ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 Certification. Manage all plant projects required to achieve company objectives at the minimum plant cost. Primary contact/coordinator for facility during emergency conditions which have the potential to affect the facility such as atmospheric disturbances, hurricanes. Implement and promote the utilization of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools in order to reduce waste and process variation to improve plant performance. Supervise outside service contractors for Pest Control and Housekeeping. Support all the safety initiatives in the plant. Maintain behaviors that improve our Environment, Health and Safety conduct in our facility. Job Requirements: Engineering Degree (BSEE, BSME, BSCHE, BSCE, or related Engineering Degree). Knowledge of FDA, EPA, EQS, OSHA and all related regulations. 5 -10 years experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical industry. Minimum 5 years of experience in Facilities. At least 8 years supervising. Must have experience in Capital projects, Project Management and Lean Manufacturing. Must be fully bilingual (Spanish and English). Computer Knowledge. Knowledgeable of applicable CGMP’s, MDD (93/42/EEC), ISO 9001, EN 46001 and ISO 13485. Knowledgeable of Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
