Johnston-McVay Park Update
Park Update JOHNSTON-MCVAY
Work began this spring on the new Johnston McVay Park project, located at 480 S. Hempstead Rd. Named after the McVay family, the land’s original owners, the park is designed to preserves the property’s natural beauty and add fun and educational play elements. Construction will include a realigned entry drive and bridge, shelter, restroom, trail network, parking lot, creek interaction zone and much more.
This spring, the contractor removed shrubs and four trees to rework the culvert for the new entry drive. The trees that have been removed will be replaced in accordance with City Ordinance 1173, along with many additional trees that will be planted.

NEXT STEPS:
Remove asphalt Demolish existing box culvert and Install a new one Start grading operations for the park development
Custom playground features are being completed by Earthscapes.
