City Council

Council Members The officials of the City of Rock Hill are elected by the citizens of Rock Hill. The Mayor is elected at-large for a four-year term. Six Council members are elected by wards and serve four-year staggered terms. Council members elect a Mayor Pro-tem to serve in the Mayor’s absence when necessary. Black III—Ward 4 Nikita Jackson—Ward 5 Jim Reno—Ward 6 Meetings The City Council welcomes the public to all Council meetings, workshops and hearings. When appropriate, you are encouraged to express your opinion during these meetings. Council meetings are typically held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, starting at 6 PM in Council Chambers at City Hall, 155 Johnston Street, Rock Hill. Agendas are posted to the City website the Friday before a meeting. Meetings can be watched live online at cityofrockhill.com/ livestream or on the City Channel—Comporium channel 115. Meetings are also available with video on demand on the City website or on the City Channel. On the 2nd Monday of the month, a Citizens Hearing is held at 5:30 PM for people to appear before Council regarding items which are not on the agenda. No Council action should be expected at this hearing, since the Council will want to study all proposals or requests before making a decision.
