Health, Social Care and Childcare Our health and social care courses will prepare you for a career making a real difference to the lives of others. Our students have a variety of opportunities to enhance their learning, including developing their medical knowledge at Bristol Medical Simulation Centre.
Child and Health Care Certificate Level 1
Awarded by Edexcel College Green Centre or South Bristol Skills Academy One year, full-time This course is an introduction to the child and health care sector. You will develop the knowledge and skills to progress onto a subject-specific Level 1 or Level 2 course, as well as studying English and Maths at the right level for you.
Health and Social Care BTEC Extended Certificate Level 2
Awarded by Pearson/Edexcel College Green Centre One year, full-time This course is for students with an interest in the health and social care sector. You will cover a range of topics including health and social care values, human body systems, creative activities and healthy living, as well as studying English and Maths if necessary.
Introduction to Health and Social Care BTEC Diploma Level 1
Awarded by Pearson College Green Centre One year, full-time This course is a foundation from which to study health and social care at a higher level. You will learn safeguarding, working within the health and social care sector, human growth and development and professional practice.
Health and Social Care Level 2 Apprenticeship
Awarded by City & Guilds Offsite One year, full-time This course is for students employed in a relevant health and social care role, such as an adult care worker, healthcare assistant, support worker or personal assistant. You will develop skills and first-hand experience at caring for individuals in a health environment.
