If you missed the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home Ride on Sunday, November 7, then you missed an awesome day! This was an event for the books. The Veterans of the nursing home were finally allowed to come outside and join the bikers and supporters after the families of the Veterans insisted they be allowed outside to participate in the festivities honoring our veterans! It was such an honor to revere these veterans. The Richard M. Campbell Nursing Home houses 220 resident veterans; 8 of them are females. The You Are Not Forgotten Run was once again a huge hit! This event is hosted by the TEUFELSHUNDE MC and was the 15th annual. TEUFELSHUNDE MC (pronounced TOY-FULSHUNDE) is composed of honorably discharged Marines. It stands for “Devil’s Dog in German. This name was said to have been given to the Marines of WWI by our enemies for their ferocity in the Battle of Belleau Wood in 1918.These brothers teamed up with the Special Forces Parachute Team to honor our veterans. TEUFELSHUNDE MC donates 100% of the money raised to the veterans. There is no overhead, or cost taken from the money raised. They were able to raise over $10,000.00 in donations. There were over 1,000 people and over 500 motorcycles. The Richard M. Campbell shuttle bus was even completely full with donations for our veterans by the end of the day! We salute you!
