Christopher Dardarian

Toronto, Canada

Christopher Dardarian is the founder and owner of Stema Gardens, a luxury landscape design/build company located in Etobicoke in the west end of Toronto, Ontario. Through his work with Stema Gardens, he creates refined outdoor living spaces for private homes across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Dardarian’s work incorporates swimming pools, patios, lighting, cabanas, extensive gardens, and a host of other outdoor features to create customized and cohesive residential environments. His self-described approach is “garden-focused and contemporary”, with an emphasis on clean lines, lush gardens and materials like natural stone and steel. The goal is to create a space that feels natural, welcoming, and functional for a wide variety of uses. Before founding Stema Gardens in 2021, Christopher Dardarian built a diverse professional background that now informs his work as a designer and business owner. He studied economics, spent seven years in construction finance as a surety bond broker, travelled extensively through Latin America, and later owned and operated The Bellevue, a busy downtown Toronto restaurant. He then completed a two-year horticulture degree at Niagara College. These experiences shaped his understanding of project planning, budgeting, construction, design, agriculture, and customer service. His time living and working on permaculture farms in Costa Rica and Guatemala also deepened his passion for ecology and landscape design. Today, Christopher Dardarian remains closely involved in the projects undertaken by Stema Gardens, from the early planning stages through to construction and final touches. As for his landscaping philosophy, he strives to achieve both beauty and functionality, all the while ensuring that each project provides lasting enjoyment for his clients.
