DIFFUSION OFFERS NEW CIBSE-APPROVED CPD DIFFUSION

Diffusion, British heating and cooling equipment specialist, is thrilled to announce that it now offers a CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Engineers)-approved CPD course designed to give attendees a better understanding of HVAC systems. Ideal for consultants, specifiers and installers, the free CPD, entitled ‘Understanding Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning’ explains the concept of air conditioning and explores fan coil units from selection to design and installation. All the subjects covered in Diffusion’s new CPD are designed to aid the specification and installation of energy-efficient fan coil units while providing a greater insight into the technology. Within the CPD, delegates will also have the opportunity to find out more about the next generation of modular fan coil units, such as the company’s new Modular Highline 235 Fan Coil Range, which won the ‘Product or Innovation of the Year – Thermal Comfort’ category of CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2024.
With the huge increase in photovoltaics being installed on both new-build and existing buildings, Kingspan Insulated Panels has developed a unique fixing system to ensure that this can be done both safely and securely. The Kingspan PowerPlus KS1000RW System has been rigorously tested to FM4478. This system comprises the QuadCore KS1000RW Roof Panel, the PoweRail RW and a Longi PV module. This marks the first step in Kingspan’s journey to offer a full range of solar solutions tested to the relevant FM Approvals standards. The FM Approvals certification mark verifies that a product meets its stated conditions of performance, safety and quality. FM4478 states the approval requirements for flexible and rigid PV modules that are installed with a roof assembly. To achieve certification, the assembly must remain intact when subjected to fire from above the structural deck, simulated wind uplift, hail damage, seismic performance requirements and gravity load resistance.

ENVIROVENT LAUNCHES MARKETLEADING DECENTRALISED MEV UNIT ENVIROVENT
EnviroVent has revealed an exciting new decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (dMEV) unit that is set to take the new-build sector by storm. QURO is set to be a ‘best-in-class’ product that incorporates the latest fan technology, achieving noise levels below 9 dB(A) at 3m. It comes with constant volume technology ensuring that the selected airflow rate is able to be achieved at a range of pressures without manual adjustments. Performance is guaranteed as EnviroVent’s QURO has low specific fan power (SFP) down to 0.08 W/l/s, which means the fan operates in the most efficient manner. Compliant with Building Regulations Approved Document F for Continuous Extract Ventilation within dwellings, QURO is listed on the SAP PCDB (Product Characteristics Database).
