Chet Lowe’s life began in the Bahamas, where he was raised in a home grounded in Christian values. His parents, Ira and Pam, modeled a lifestyle of faith and service that deeply influenced him. From an early age, Chet showed a desire to serve others. He organized a small Vacation Bible School in his family’s garage when he was seven. That moment became the first step in a life committed to ministry. Growing up, Chet was surrounded by family members who supported his growth in faith. His siblings, Susan and Matthew, were an important part of his upbringing. His home life reinforced the importance of compassion, responsibility, and trust in God. These early years shaped the direction his life would take. Chet’s interest in missions began early. By thirteen, he was already stepping into international service. He traveled to South Korea to help build a church and then to Liberia the following year to work on a school project. These trips showed him that ministry was not limited by geography. The experiences also confirmed his sense—that he was being called to serve in difficult and distant places. 1994, Chet married Andrea, and one year later, they made a life-changing decision. They moved to Liberia, a country in the middle of a violent civil war, with their newborn in tow. The choice to go was driven by faith and a desire to serve others, even in uncertain conditions. The years they spent there were challenging, marked by instability and suffering. Yet, they remained committed to their work. During their time in Liberia, Chet and Andrea helped build churches and founded Joseph’s Brethren, a ministry aimed at helping children affected by war. More than 1,500 children were rescued through this effort, many of them former child soldiers. These children were placed in safe homes and care centers, giving them support and a path to healing. This work deepened Chet’s understanding of ministry—not as a program but as a way of life.
