Missing man found A JET-SKI rider survived an eight-hour ordeal in the waters off Parkdale last week. A 48-year-old Clarinda man launched his jet ski from Patterson River at around 6pm on 11 January. At around 10.30pm he called a relative to tell them he was having engine troubles. The jet-ski rider’s brother took his boat to look for him, but lost communication a little after midnight. Police were called, and they soon began searching with the help of the Coast Guard. Thankfully the missing man was found aboard his powerless jet ski before the break of day. The man was taken back to shore uninjured.

Four car theft arrests TWO teenagers and two adults have been charged over the alleged theft of an Audi from Beaumaris last week. The car was allegedly stolen in an

aggravated burglary at a Haydens Road home overnight between 8 and 9 January. The car was recovered in Carrum the next day. Soon afterwards, police arrested four people on Station Street in Carrum. They allege they recovered stolen car keys, wallets, and IDs as well as cannabis and methylamphetamine. Two teenagers were among those arrested - a 17-year-old boy from Skye was charged with possess drug of dependence and handle stolen goods and bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date, and a 17-year-old Mornington boy was charged with aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle, theft, unlicensed driving, possess drug of dependence, and criminal damage and was scheduled to face court. A 34-year-old Carrum man was charged with aggravated burglary, theft of motor vehicle, theft, handle stolen goods, and possess drug of dependence. A 32-year-old Carrum woman was charged with trafficking a drug of dependence, possess

drug of dependence, theft of motor vehicle, handle stolen goods, and fail to answer bail.

Theft attempt goes awry A MORDIALLOC man has been arrested for an alleged attempted carjacking. Police were called out to an alleged assault at the intersection of Chapel Street and Alma Road in St Kilda a little before 9pm on 10 January. A 51-year-old man stopped at traffic lights was allegedly approached and assaulted by a man who demanded he get out of the car. The victim, helped by others nearby, managed to restrain the alleged offender until police came. The 37-year-old Mordialloc man was soon arrested and charged with attempted carjacking, common law assault, state false name. and commit indictable offence whilst on bail. The man was scheduled to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 11 January.
