Home for sailors to rest their sea legs LOCAL sailors have a new place to call home. The construction of the Carrum Sailing and Motorboat Club’s clubhouse is complete. The clubhouse features a social space, kitchen, boat storage, a ramp, and decking. The state government contributed nearly $150,000 to the project. Carrum MP Sonya Kilkenny said that the half-decade old organisation deserved a new home. “For more than 50 years the club has provided a range of sailing and boating opportunities for the community,” she said. “Carrum sailors and boat enthusiasts can look forward to planning their next water adventure from a brand-new clubhouse at the Carrum Sailing and Motorboat Club.” Kilkenny said she “acknowledged Kingston City Council for their support of the project and Carrum Sailing and Motor Boat Club for their significant financial contribution.” For more information on how to apply for state government sporting grants visit www.sport.vic.gov.au
