Quality Over Quantity On the hunt for quality, contemporary, cutting edge cabinetry, these Daniel Island dwellers collaborated with professional cabinet designers to achieve their design goals.

ach room in this Lowcountry house is unique and different from the next. Together, these rooms make up the pieces of a stunning, custom project. When the owners were in the process of building this home, they were very clear on their vision for the various cabinetry throughout. They were looking for high-quality cabinetry that was sleek and modern.

They began the consult and design process. Since they already knew what they were looking for in terms of style, function, and budget, the process went smoothly. Once the selections were made, their cabinet makers sourced new materials and components to bring the design together. They used super matte, Nano technology Fenix finishes 106 • CH+D • Summer 2021

that self heal from minor scratches. Fully integrated panels and surfaces across the kitchen, bar, and doorways helped achieve the clean lines the homeowners wanted. All of the cabinet doors are push to open, so no handles were used. There was a combination of the finishes above along with custom wood veneers, dyes, stains, and opaque finishes to make each space feel like its own—no two spaces are the same. Jay Miller, owner of HWC Custom Cabinetry, recalls his continued relationship with these homeowners and why it was beneficial for them to collaborate again. “I’ve had multiple projects with this builder and with these homeowners,” he recalls. “Each time we work together, we offer attention to detail,
