Collector’s Paradise Art and keepsakes adorn this couple’s Seabrook home, so practical display and storage space was a must.
I
t was the entryway chandelier that sold Flo and John Gilson on their Seabrook home three years ago. That, and a view of the golf course, made it an ideal fit for this active couple. As perfect as it was, they also knew they eventually needed to renovate the kitchen and master bath. As experienced renovators who had previously served as their own project managers, Flo and John wanted to hire a general contractor for this effort. They interviewed a few local companies and found their match with Polished Renovations & Design (PRD). The team worked on the couple’s kitchen, master bath, laundry area, and created a custom wardrobe and wine storage. 136 • CH+D • Winter 2020
Spending time with the couple and the PRD team, it’s clear to see that this partnership works. “We were looking for a comfort level with someone to work with and talk to, in addition to their expertise,” explains John. “The biggest thing was that they could meet a timeline and stick to it,” Flo adds. “They gave us that and a payment schedule—and they hit their dates across the board.” Founded by Kyle and Katelyn Irizarry and Ben Fitzgerald in May 2016, PRD offers something unique. Kyle brings the project management mind, Katelyn— and now Brandi Hanna—are the creative thinkers, and Ben is the craftsman. For the homeowners, this meant that they
