Lead Designer: Joy Lang (pictured left) Company: Joy Lang Antiques & Interiors Credentials: Joy earned her degree from Georgia Southern University and has 12 years of experience in the worlds of construction, real Joy Lang Antiques & Interiors. GDC Consultant: Ali Wilder (pictured right) Company: GDC Home Credentials: Ali is a lead design consultant at GDC Home. Ali received her degree in fashion and design from the University of South Carolina. She is also a licensed realtor, and advises her clients on how to increase value through the staging of their home.
What were the owners’ desires for this space and how did you bring those requests to life? For this project, the property owners wanted to create a unique space that was inviting and comfortable. This hunting cottage needed to be a place that they could entertain business associates, family, and friends. I brought in furniture and décor that I thought would be functional for the space as well as incredibly cozy and stylish.
What did you enjoy the most about this project? I loved that the owners trusted me to run wild with the vision that I had. The clients never saw the space until it was finished. I knew what they wanted for this and they let me make it happen for them.
Why was it important to hire an interior designer for this project? I was able to take a very bare setting and transform it within the set budget into something truly unique. The property owners are incredibly busy and didn’t have the time to do the project and source items on their own. I curated the pieces from numerous sources, many from GDC Home, and elevated the cottage to what you see now.
