Charles Douyon is a seasoned legal and compliance professional with over 12 years of experience in financial regulations. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he developed a strong affinity for sports from a young age, particularly basketball and football. His family later moved to Long Island during high school, where he continued to excel in these sports. His time on the field helped him cultivate important qualities like discipline, teamwork, and perseverance—which would later benefit him in his career. After high school, Charles initially enrolled at Northeastern University in Boston. However, after September 11, 2001, he transferred to Berkeley College in New York to be closer to his family during such uncertain times. At Berkeley, he pursued a degree in Business Management and Finance, graduating magna cum laude in 2005. This academic achievement marked the beginning of his professional journey in both business and law. Following his graduation, Charles entered the finance industry, taking a position at a financial institution on Wall Street. He gained valuable exposure to investment strategies, business operations, and market dynamics in this high-pressure, fast-paced environment. However, after several years, he realized that his genuine interest lay in the legal aspects of the financial industry. This led him to pursue a law degree and transition into the legal field. In 2007, Charles enrolled at Northwestern University School of Law, making a significant career shift from finance to law. The transition was not without challenges, but his business management background gave him a unique perspective on legal issues, particularly those within the financial sector. He graduated from law school in 2010, entering the legal profession when the financial industry underwent a significant regulatory change after the Global Financial Crisis.
