LEgacy Society In 1996, the Foundation created the Legacy Society to recognize the philanthropic options offered through estate planning. The Foundation can help – alongside your attorney, financial advisor, or CPA – to create charitable giving strategies aligned with your charitable intentions as well as your estate planning and financial goals. Leaving funds to establish an endowment fund translates to a lasting source of grants for the charitable causes that matter to the donor. If you have already named the Foundation as a beneficiary in your will, qualified retirement plan, life insurance policy, trusts, or pooled life income funds, please contact the Foundation so we can appropriately recognize you and ensure that your wishes are met.

Jimmy Tittle joined the Legacy Society as a charter member in 1996. These donors, including Jimmy, have entrusted the Foundation with the management of their gifts. In doing so, they advance a shared vision of building permanent charitable resources through planned gifts.
IN MEMORIAM James D. (“Jimmy”) Tittle passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, at the age of 97. Jimmy set out to bring great architecture to Abilene, saying early on, “You can’t make a living if you’re not drawing lines on paper.” Jimmy also helped to advance local nonprofits like the Abilene Cultural Affairs Council, The Grace Museum, and many others. He promoted and served Abilene through his service to these organizations. Jimmy served as a trustee of the Foundation. We’re honored to carry out his legacy through his estate gift that supports the nonprofits he designated. His impact is forever and always.
