Catherine E. McKinley

CATHERINE E. McKINLEY, a former Fulbright Scholar, is the author of several critically acclaimed works of literary nonfiction, including THE AFRICAN LOOKBOOK, INDIGO: IN SEARCH OF THE COLOR THAT SEDUCED THE WORLD, and THE BOOK OF SARAHS. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, where she has taught creative writing, she received an M.A. in Art from New York University in 2018, and launched a curatorial practice. She is the curator of PhotoIreland 2023 in Dublin with Renee Mussai of The Walther Collection.   McKinley provides freelance consulting and editorial services, including project development; grant writing; press and editorial services for arts and literary organizations, individual artists, commercial authors, and academic institutions. She offers special expertise in African and African American modern and contemporary art; African textile traditions; fashion and costume and its related trade histories.
