Spencer Margaret Richmond’s schoolgirl crush on Fran Kranz was just that until the pair, who had gone to the same elementary and high schools, reconnected years later at a party in the Hollywood Hills. Fran, an actor, proposed to Spencer, a yoga instructor and student of Ayurvedic medicine, with a 100-year-old Tiffany sapphire ring. “While we grew up in L.A. and live in Venice we wanted to be married somewhere outside the city, so Santa Barbara was the obvious choice,” says Spencer. After the ceremony at All Saints-bythe-Sea in Montecito, the party made their way to The Valley Club of Montecito for the reception. “The rolling golf course and scattered trees made for beautiful pastoral setting, while the tent served as a cozy sanctuary for the party,” says Spencer, who worked with Yifat Oren & Associates on the

design. Inside, long tables were topped with arrangements that felt handpicked from a garden, while a family-style dinner of fried chicken and handmade pasta was served before the colorful, funfetti wedding cake. Their choreographed first dance—a three-song medley starting with The Pointer Sisters’ “I’m So Excited,” then Stevie Wonder’s “Do I Do,” and finishing with Sam Cooke’s “Bring It On Home to Me”— was something straight out of Dirty Dancing. “It might have been the highlight of the wedding,” says the bride. “It was the happiest we have ever been.” • VENUE The Valley Club of Montecito PLANNER Carolyn Hedge for Yifat Oren & Associates FLORIST The Velvet Garden CATERING Maili Halme CAKE The Solvang Bakery ENTERTAINMENT Project M for Élan Artists RENTALS Classic Party Rentals, Casa de Perrin, Archive Rentals VIDEOGRAPHY Hart Pictures DRESS Mira Zwillinger STATIONERY Copper Willow Paper Studio SPRING WEDDINGS
