Cayuga Capital Management (CCM) began with a shared interest in long-term real estate development and investment. In 2007, Jacob Sacks and James Wiseman created the firm with the intention of working across the full cycle of residential and commercial projects. Operating in New York City, the company focuses primarily on Brooklyn and Texas. Its work includes acquiring properties, guiding development, managing operations, handling renovations, and new construction. The partners emphasize practical real estate solutions that support neighborhood needs, from housing to retail to community-oriented spaces. Over the years, CCM has taken on a meaningful role in Brooklyn’s growth. The firm has developed more than 350 apartment units and close to 450,000 square feet of commercial space. These contributions have made Cayuga Capital one of the largest commercial developers in Williamsburg and a major residential operator in Bushwick. Through steady involvement in these areas, the company has participated in the shift from older industrial corridors to mixed residential and commercial districts. One of the firm’s most recognized projects involved Vital Climbing Gym, a fitness company based in California. Cayuga Capital purchased a warehouse at 1 Nassau Avenue in 2017, situated near McCarren Park along the boundary between Williamsburg and Greenpoint. The property a century-old industrial building had the size and flexibility needed for adaptive reuse. CCM reworked the building to appeal to a specialized fitness tenant, converting it into approximately 46,000 square feet of climbing walls, fitness facilities, and social areas. The property sold in 2023 for $43.3 million, which at that time was the highest price paid for a standalone climbing facility. The project demonstrated how an industrial site could regain relevance through careful planning and a well-matched tenant.
