Team Competition
Campers spend a short part of each day competing as members of one of two teams—the Caddo or the Osage. Each morning, campers play a competitive game to earn points for their team. Throughout the session, a running score is kept so that at the close of each Camp Ozark session, one of the two teams, the Caddo or the Osage, is declared the final victor. The three goals of Team Competition are to teach campers:
10:15 AM
Chill Out
It’s time for campers to cool down by visiting the Waterpark, playing a round of mini-golf, grabbing a drink at the Store, or heading to their cabins to get ready for what’s next!
10:50 AM
Morning Activities
Each camper creates their own unique, individualized morning activity schedule. Campers participate in three different morning classes per week, which occur daily, Monday–Thursday. Through myOzark, campers designate their morning activity preferences in advance. Most activities are also available during Mish Mash, when campers get to experience the full variety of the Ozark program.

Morning Activities HELPFUL
HINTS
Morning Activities are an opportunity for campers to invest time in a small number of activity options (at Mish Mash every afternoon is when campers experience the full variety of our program). These morning classes have curated lesson plans enabling campers to receive specialized instruction, focus on projects, and learn new skills.
Each child will receive the first draft of their individualized schedule (based on their designated preferences) when they arrive at camp and will have 6 opportunities each week to change their schedule to what they want to do. All activities are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Age and gender restrictions may apply for certain activities.
Specialty and Elective Activities are unique program options available to campers. Specialty Activities may require all three class periods every day for a week. Elective Activities are classes that occur only once during the week and replace a camper’s regular classes for that day only. These activities will be considered your camper’s first choice and, for some classes, additional fees may apply.

OZARK ACTIVITIES Frequently Asked Questions
The Camp Ozark morning program is the only one of its kind in the country. Most camps host cabin group activities, but we have a personalized activity schedule for each and every camper, created by them! When accounting for age and gender, we offer over 200 different activity classes. The morning program takes place 4 days/week, Monday-Thursday, in three 35-minute-long activity periods each morning. Kids typically have the same 3 classes each morning of a given week (with two-week campers having a new set of activities in their 2nd week). This is to give campers time to finish a project, to learn a new skill, or to thoroughly explore their selected activity area. There are exceptions to this norm, because we do have some classes that meet just once or that meet only on certain days. These exceptions are called “electives” (see more info below). There’s nothing else quite like the complexity, variety, scale, and experience of Camp Ozark’s morning activity program. This time of day really is incomparable!
Do campers only get to do 3 activities each week?
No. Campers typically only do 3 morning activities each week. However, every afternoon we have a second activity time called Mish Mash. All major activity areas are open for over 2 hours every afternoon. Campers do not sign up in advance for their Mish Mash activities. Campers can experience many different activities during the same Mish Mash if they so choose.
What about wakeboarding or waterskiing?
All campers go to the lake during their session with their cabin and will be able to wakeboard or waterski during that time. No sign up required for this cabin lake time. This is a standard part of their Camp Ozark experience. However, if campers are interested in extra time out at the lake, then we have an extremely limited number of spots available in our Advanced Wakeboarding/Waterskiing class. We do not recommend this class for first year campers or for elementary school campers. This is a first come, first served class based on the order in which campers sign up for it. Advanced Wakeboarding/Waterskiing also takes up a large portion of the camper’s day and comes at an extra fee.
If my camper doesn’t like a Morning Activity, is there an opportunity to change their schedule?
Yes! We offer many opportunities for campers to change their Morning Activity schedule. On Opening Day we do schedule changes in the Lodge and the Summit Chow Hall from 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM. Campers are also able to change their activities after the session has begun.
Schedule Change Opportunities
What
is
an elective?
Most Morning Activities meet every day, Monday-Thursday. Elective activities meet just once during the week. If you select an elective (Trail Ride, for example), this will replace one of your regularly scheduled morning activities just one time. Some electives are multiple activity periods in length (such as Float Trip or Scuba, for example).

F.I.T. FIRST IS THIRD
F.I.T. is the overriding theme of Camp Ozark’s spiritual emphasis. Our belief is that in order to “win” in our lives, we must place God first, others second, and ourselves third. By placing ourselves third, by being “F.I.T.”, we actually come in first in the “race of life.”
